| The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness. John Kenneth Galbraith

Remember curb to curb garbage service?
The first trash men used to go into your back yard and bring the cans out to the curb for you, then the trucks would come around and others would dump them in. |

It isn't 'looking backward' to take into account what has already been tried, and failed, when figuring out what to do about problems in the city. In fact, only a fool would not do that. We used to have a 'forward-looking', ahead of its time technical program in our schools. We allowed the social engineers to get rid of it. Those who don't remember the lessons of history are doomed to repeat its mistakes. |

Still Lookin' Backwards. Nostalgia is fun, but it doesn't put any bread on the table.
Global foundries was just one more 'forward' idea for the Saratoga Clifton Park area. GE is as greedy as they get, but as long as they pay taxes and provide jobs in the area, they should be the focus of our efforts. Nano tech in our schools is a good way to make sure similar projects move here and once here, they stay here.
yep, just love an environmental nightmare on an active brown field and geo fault line spend $$$ on special schooling to go work a rotating 4 on, 1 off work week in a 24/7 sweatshop chrome factory -for $65k a year about the only thing that made sense was putting more new deadly chemicals(gases that dissolve the bone under your skin without your knowledge) on old deadly chemicals (rocket fuel) - -we did it for our future - the children http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydrofluoric_acid - enjoy |

We should have listened to Eliot Spitzer when he wanted to pass a crack tax.
who's crack? |
