Am I the only one just finding this out? A man was saying, in a comments section for a related article in the TU, that Carl Strock did not retire from the Gazette, he was let go because his writing about the Palestinians angered the owner of a supermarket chain. Didn't Carl himself state that he was retiring?
It just goes to show what you don't know from the local news sources.

To me, the Palestinian articles were not appropriate for a local paper and made Strock seem like a crank past his prime.

Not that I like him but it wouldn't surprise me if he were fired over questioning the actions of Israel. Many act as if questioning them is somehow a treasonous act.

I felt the same way as Jaystreet, not that one shouldn't question Israel, but that I was finding it tiresome and rather self-indulgent of Carl. But if the paper let him go, why pretend otherwise?

Most likely they chose not to renew his contract, which he in turn decided to retire rather than finding another gig?

Who cares? A self indulgent windbag who like attacking Israel, the Pope and any religion except Islam. Not appropriate for a so called local column.  BTW, Gazetto circulation is up
since they dumped him.

Never liked the guy's articles. But his later writings looked NOTHING like the gazetto fluff. He was clearly more LAME STREAM MEDIA than LOCAL YOCAL MEDIA.

he wrote....gazetto told him to cool it.....he said no.....bye-bye!! jmho
