1077 Glenwood Blvd (in this "renaissance city" as the dems and their cheerleader define it) has been listed for sale for OVER A YEAR.

It has many NUMEROUS REPEAST APPEARANCES in the taxpayer subsidized Mayor McCheese real estate business monthly gala bus tour of the city's chosen open houses

The city claims it would sell for $182,000 and the mayor, the dems, and the assessment people have REFUSED to conduct a citywide reassessment.

It was listed for sale OVER A YEAR ago for $149,00, and several price reductions the asking price is down to $112,000, but the city values it at $182,000  ROFL

Despite both private and city funded marketing the house is still for sale.

But look, in an extreme act of desperation, the mayor is holding a press conference at this house on Sunday.  DESPARATE ATTEMPT to TRY to sell it

But check out the ad and photos.

The woefully outdated light fixtures.  You can see long outdated ceiling tiles that weren't even part of the original house (what are they hiding behind the tiles?).  Vinyl floor covering in the kitchen?  ROFL   In fact it looks like vinyl or pergo in the living room and dining room!  A house getting marketed as so grand should have hardwood floors, not some fake.   Cabinets in the kitchen woeful as well.  For house allegedly so grand, where are the stainless appliances?  And how about the kitchen counters - formica?   ROFL.

The house should be billed as needing lots and lots of TLC.

And a little common sense too.  5 or 6 bedrooms is NOT one a childless couple would want.  And couples with children are NOT going to spend so much money in the city, with a dangerous crime ridden alley behind them, in the school system the city has

IF this house sells, and if the owner makes  a down payment to bring the mortgage amount to $100,000, at 4% for 30 years, well, as we intelligent "nayboobs" know, the taxes in the city have long been said to be "more than" the mortgage amount, well in this case the taxes come out to be close to double the monthly mortgage if it is mortgaged for $100G even.  Then factor in the tens of thousands of dollar to bring the house up to date.

That alley features people from the rehab centers strolling through. If you don't want the schools, you don't want a house that large either. As far as the condition of these types of property, yes, you can buy a house for what some consider a 'low' price, but if you want to do it justice as far as maintaining it, you need some disposable income, because "good" materials are expensive. When you buy a 'bargain' price house and it is taxed higher than a newer house in a decent school district, you don't have the money available for a decent job of restoration, you don't come out ahead or break even, as the mayor has tried to assert. Many more parents are abandoning the system and dumping their houses because the schools are only concerned with the social welfare of the worst-behaved students, and not with the learning experience of their kids at all.
This bears repeating, I know it is monotonous, but the mayor is still out there pushing falsehoods, and people are still voting them in. Getting people to wake up to the truth is this city's only chance. Shiny buildings won't save it, Detroit has shiny buildings, doesn't it?

Most of the smart folks have 'left the building' aka city of Schenectady.
And that is the way they want it.
Schenectady will remain in decline as long as the majority (60%) are on welfare/section 8.
And the same leaders will continue to get re/elected.
The smart folks have left or are leaving....the welfare recipients are staying....and no new 'smart folks' are looking to move there.

It's a win-win for both the Schenectady social machine and the welfare recipients. OH and let's not forget the CORPORATE WELFARE recipients that own downtown.......TAX FREE!!

What do you get for those taxes? A young couple gets to pay off debt they did not incur. They get to pay King Philip to live better than they do. They get to pay a cushy retirement for a cop accused of pointing a gun in a boy's face, a cop who was in a hurry to get to his lower-taxed home. What's not to like? It's kind of like, if you bought a house in say, Clifton Park, if you agreed to pay off the balance of the previous owner's mortgage, in addition to your own.
Oh, you can go downtown and see what it's like to have disposable income, you can stand there and watch people going into Proctor's for a show, or watch people going out to dine at a restaurant.

What's even funnier is that the mayor's H.O.M.E.S. "partner" Prudential  is the real estate firm trying to sell.

And remember Prudential is the firm that has "Mary Mary," you know, the mayor's pick for the Board of Assessment to prevent assessments from getting reduced.

Even the mayor's handpicked political cronies can't sell homes.

What's sad is that this region largely avoided the mortgage scandal, but an elected official and a licensed realtor are trying to create a mini one here. No one can say they don't know better, anymore.

............and don't forget KeyBank!!
we know a couple of folks who work for keybank and even THEY said they would never move to Schenectady, but they have to promote it cause it's their job and that's what they get paid to do.

Still waiting for the pics of your most epic home.

With these pics, our forum community can understand the standard of what a cutting edge, modern home interior looks like.
