I was trying to find more information about that sewage treatment issue, it is surprisingly hard. It either has something to do with Hurricane Sandy diverting money, or President Obama wanting to cut funds for that back in 2012, it looks like. Roger Hull had some progressive ideas about that very important issue, clean water. Schenectady used to be ahead on ideas, remember?
You know, I used to be somewhat annoyed at how Proctor's was being promoted as this 'economic engine' thing, but after I read the shocking lies printed as HISTORY on that website, I am angry. I have been saying all along that this present concept of Proctor's had nothing to do with the original hard work of getting the theater going again as a venue for Broadway shows, but "they" are even promoting themselves as some kind of historic preservationists! Exactly the opposite! The goings-on are killing any chance at all at any tourism "Here's a badly designed and dimly lit roadway, where there used to be the historic Erie Canal! Recognize it? Of course not! We've removed every trace! The other end, the historic ALCO, where it used to exist! Once again, no trace! Since there's nothing left to see, don't drive there, the road is impassable!" That kind of tourism? I'm digressing. Nice governor, president, mayor, New York's cities can all go to Hell as far as they are concerned, and they are. Clean water is one of the most important functions of government, imo, our infrastructure is decaying into something from the third world, and we get "tax-free" zones around rip-off schools in Albany. |
