Cissy, you really need to read the information available before you keep making a fool of yourself. Randy Paul isn't suggesting we "leave it up to regional nations... he's suggesting they join us in a war against ISIS. You know... we supply them with guns, tanks, planes, weapons, Drones, etc... just like we've done a hundred times before. He Quacks Like A Libertarian, but Acts Like A Republican.
I read the info. He suggested that the 2nd largest army in NATO(Turkey) get involved in the regional issues, along with Syria and Iran. With possible US air support and technological support. My understanding is, as a NATO member, Turkey already gets a lot of US made weapons and technology. In your own quote, Paul said America CAN have a role. I interpret that as the US possibly assisting the regional nations. Not them joining the US. But at the end of the day, he thinks Congress should make the call.
Quoted Text
“So I also think that Turks really should be enjoined in this. And I do think that there can be a role for America. But I would rather see the president come to a joint session

Proper use of force, for defense only, does not require approval.
Only offensive attacks require a vote by the lords of war.

Once again, you are reading your agenda into Paul's words. All Paul would ask congress for is the $$$ to fund the war. It's a yes or no for funding. Even if the funding is limited in scope, once Paul brings the US to war, funding will always be extended. It Quacks like a duck... but it's a Hawk! |

Box, you are adding words to your own quote that are not there. Not only that, Paul is clearly quoted saying he would like to see Obama go to congress for PERMISSION, not FUNDING. I don't know where you are seeing the word funding. Here's your quote. Help me find the word funding.
Quoted Text
But I would rather see the president come to a joint session of Congress, [ask] for permission, and if he gets it, I still would like to see the ground

The democrat tactic is to get Paul to look like a war hawk, because Hilary is a war mongering psycho. And there are plenty of video footage showing that fact. So now they want paint paul as a war hawk.(even if they make it up)
Good luck with the strategy. |

Box is in his own world, and as usual sees what he wants to see. Its kinda sad in a way, reminds me of the video he posted where supposedly he ran away from a interview, only to have the same video prove what he originally said that he was doing another interview. Even with video evidence box couldn't believe it LMAO. |

LMAO @ Turkey! ISIS operated from TURKEY for at least 3 years, moving freely across their borders. Wounded ISIS troops were treated at Turkish Hospitals. Turkey just now is opposing ISIS but just barely. |

Rand is not asking for a 'declaration of war'. He would "SEEK CONGRESSIONAL AUTHORIZATION TO DESTROY ISIS MILITARILY". Authorization... Funding... Permission to spend Cicero's hard earned Tax Dollars... Wars cost money and Paul is ready to spend spend spend! |

So you are saying a NATO member is basing terrorist attacks out of their country? sh*t! That's a bigger problem for Obama than the attacks themselves. What an absolute failure Obama is! Is Obama still selling weapons to Turkey knowing they are helping facilitate their attacks and treat their wounded? |

No box, authorization is the people's representatives support the mission. You keep on calling it funding, as if the mission is a foregone conclusion. |

RAND PAUL GOES TO WAR!OK. What was the Gulf Of Tonkin Amendment? Permission to wage war (at the presidents discretion) but Not A Declaration of War! Did Paul say he would ask for a Declaration of War???? NOPE! Gulf of Tonkin: LBJ "Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Congress approves and supports the determination of the President, as Commander in Chief, to take all necessary measures to repel any armed attack against the forces of the United States and to prevent further aggression. Iraq War Resolution: GWB Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress: Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002. If Randy Paul wanted a Declaration of War, he would have said so. If he wanted to use Military force with out a declaration of war... He would have said so... and he did! |

If he wants to use military force, he would require Congress to approve it. He and his advisors would be involved in execution of the military action after the vote, as long as congress consent to the use of it. He wouldn't lob 100 cruise missiles into Libya, THEN AFTER the operation is launched go tell Congress it was done in National Defense. He was pretty clear, congress would have to approve any military use(unless imminent). |

Paul didn't say he would seek congressional approval before any military use... He just said in the case of ISIS, he would. What he might do in any other military operation is yet to be determined.
