One, I hope that "poem" gets read, was it rp who wrote and posted it, I can't remember already.   Didn't she say she sent it to the newspaper?  It hasn't been in, I would say send it again.

Two, the tax increase is much much larger than the mayor claims.  The tax LEVY goes up less than the amount of the tax cap, but the tax BILLS WILL INCREASE MUCH MORE.

Remember, the FACT that the dems have exempted most all of downtown from paying taxes, and then they exempted GE from paying taxes, the revenue that would otherwise be received from GE, Galesi, King Philip, Paul Mitchell, the Bow Tie, Mallozzi family, the Hiltons, etc (all these MULTI-MILLIONAIRES), the city will not be receiving any money from the rich.  The taxes that would otherwise be paid is then FORCIBLY TAKEN in the form of much higher tax bills on the financially struggling overburdened homeowners so what might be a 1% increase in the tax LEVY  can result in a higher percentage increase in the tax BILL.  Then add to it, not a percentage increase but a flat fee increase in trash and the sewer fees.  Trash increase of $19.50 per residential unit.   Many many two familiy houses the owner occupant owners will not rent the other flat but the DEM PARTY FORCES THEM to pay a trash fee even if no extra trash generated.   Then as sewer fees are also per bathroom, per toilet, per tub, etc, then that will be much higher than the mayor claimed it would be in the paper because they have to be mulplied by the number of baths, etc.  Even one-family houses often have two full baths.

That room tonight should be as packed as the Rotterdam meeting was but I'll bet it won't be.

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

People have largely given up. Some of them still think what is going on downtown is wonderful, you can't persuade them otherwise, they are just stupid, I guess.
