That fact is obvious!

Gabrielle Giffords toured rows of tables loaded with rifles and handguns in her first visit to
a gun show since surviving a 2011 shooting, and pleaded afterward for people to come
together to stop gun violence.

Damn!  Giffords wants us to join together to "stop gun violence". No wonder Henry hates her.
She want's to stop gun violence!

Stopping gun violence can not be done by laws, how many laws create the violence to begin with. The war on drugs killed how many people? NY now has one of the toughest laws on the books, that didn't stop the shootings in Schenectady did it. If you think guns are the problem turn yours in.

So drop the laws against abortion, gay marriage, domestic violence etc etc etc.  Or do you only want
to ban the laws that you disagree with?

I would drop all victimless crimes, a gun kills people like a spoon makes people fat. There are already laws on the books which would punish those who harm others or has a victim.

It's amazing how terrified Henry and Cissy are of one disabled woman who was almost killed while serving
in their government as a congressman.

I'm not terrified.  I just know it was a PR stunt.  I know how these visits are done.  A bunch of handlers come into the event days prior, map out where Gabby and her husband are going to walk through, they tell the gun show organizers where the press and cameras are going to be, Gabby walks in, looks at some guns, walks out, and wallah, we see the pictures.  It's contrived, it isn't real.  It's a staged event.

I understand your anarchist values Henry.  Fortunately most Americans disagree with your view.

I've seen people like you fight good laws that save lives.  Your view kills people needlessly.  I remember
your view trying to ban seatbelt laws and they still fight helmet laws.

Go ahead and kill people with your view if you want to.  The vast majority of Americans support good
gun laws like "universal background checks".

A seatbelt law only hurts those who don't use it, the only victim is the idiot who decides not to use it in the 1st place. If someone wants to drive without one that should be up to them but they would also have to deal with the consequences of their own stupidity. If there was no laws on the books about seatbelts guess what, I would still use it because it is the responsible thing to do. You somehow think reason goes out the window when a law in not enforced, it isn't. Do you think banning spoons would also stop obesity?

Yadda Yadda Yadda... same $hit different day.

Your libertarian stance is well known on this board.  "I WANT THE FREEDOM TO GO THROUGH THE
WINDSHIELD!!!"
The FACTS remain, that until seatbelts were required by LAW to be installed in cars, most people
didn't buy them or use them.
Until laws clamping down on use of seatbelts were enforced, many still didn't use them.

Quoted Text
Seat belts save over 12,000 lives a year, but there is a big difference in usage
between the states. The variation in buckling correlates with the state seat-belt laws—the
stronger the better for optimal safety.

The nationwide seat belt use rate in 2010 was 85 percent—the highest it’s ever been.
Even better, 15 states plus the District of Columbia have use rates over 90 percent,
according to a new survey from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

Three of those states hit over 97 percent: Hawaii, Oregon, and Washington. Not surprising,
the state with the lowest use rate is the only state without a seat belt law—New Hampshire
at 72.2 percent. Live free or die, as the state motto goes.

You can spew your libertarian views all you want Henry.  Seatbelt LAWS save lives.

Point is there is no victim, seatbelts save lives the laws do not. Would you not wear one if the laws were repealed? or would you be smart enough to know they could save your live and put it on anyways? It is the same deal with smoking, tobacco kills but we leave it up to the people to make the right decision, some do some don't, in the end what they do falls on them.

No, wearing seat belts saves lives, not the laws.  If laws directly affected behavior, then drug LAWS would stop drug use.

Another Cicero Fallacy! Seatbelt laws save lives.  Without the laws, use would be half of what it is today.
That 'half' who don't go through the windshield, are the lives saved.

You hear that Cicero, we need laws to protect us from ourselves, how did humanity make it this far without these laws
