Some parents are happy to have their kids labeled and drugged so they can get SSI.

Of course there are kids with real disorders, but the majority drugged for convenience.

Kids are not allowed to be kids anymore, just little controlled robots.

Where are the nuns with rulers
And
The principals with paddles

No respect for anyone because they have no fear

Really, you only earn respect through the use of corporal punishment and fear? My God!   And we wonder why society behaves this way. It looks like the inner city gangs and youth are using the school formula for earning respect.  Threats and instilling fear.  This society is in trouble.

it only takes one!

besides how is the fear thing working on the adults  - two cops fear a group of children  - a principal too scared to stay in the job, a principal to chicken sh!t to come to work

darwins magic is in full display at MP

the drugging thing is GREAT  - no second amendment for you - ever   - one item in the bill of rights removed
dispense enough adhd drugs and ny could be gun free in less than 20 years

this article points out just how well stroking their egos works

What the pioneer families do without the 'civilized' systems....the kids worked the freaking farms to continue to have something
to eat, house, clothe etc......they were too busy....

urbane/civilized makes a human a victim to their own goals and traditions....

you cannot be a human in today's society unless you a perfect cog....and useful

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

This is the one thing the kids learned.  If you out intimidate the adult, you win.

The principal is doing the same thing the kids do when they hate school - play hookie.  The roles are reverse, now the principal knows what the kids that skip school feel like, going into a school they hate.

Maybe the principal should be prescibed anti anxiety drugs to help get through the school day.  If the principal can't make it to school, obviously the principal has a behavior disorder.  It couldn't be the environment at the school that is causing the problem.

McEvoy is the fourth principal to lead the school since the beginning of last year. An acting principal — the fifth leader in a year — has stepped in during her absence.

Four principals in just over 1 year.  Gee, adults receiving 6 figure salaries won't show up to these schools.  That sounds like they may have some sort of mental disorder.  We need to start medicating these principals to get them to show up to school and do their jobs.  After all, it's not the system, the system is normal and wonderful.  There must be some chemical imbalance that prevents them from doing their work.

Now lets shift to the parents.....how many kids see their parents, smoke a joint..and some.... or drink to get thru a stressful day.....they need help to relax and cope. How many parents cave to their kids just to shut them up so they the parents can cope better. Either both parents are working or they don't work at all, or there is only one parent...or perhaps none at all! This behavior has infiltrated ALL of society!

Today....society is reaping the 'benefits'(tic) of the 'if it feels good, do it', 60's hippie generation!

rp, I had a male relative try to intervene in an incident similar to the one you describe, he phoned police, then went to look for the woman, the perp ran and hid, so did she.
We've allowed a subculture to form in our midst, where the normal rules of civilization don't apply. By we, I don't mean just Schenectady, there are other such human dumpsites in places like St.Louis, Detroit, etc. New London was another place they thought they could build their way out of the mess, they had to turn off their fancy fountain as it was being used as a toilet. They have finally turned off the section eight spigot, Schenectady is still going full blast with the failed ideas.

when you realize you're a cog in a machine that isn't yours, that doesn't work for you, that tells you what you're worth via fiat
there are 2 things to tell the kids

1. just do it to get along/get by
2. you have to so you can be somebody

when in school there is nothing to look for...they test you, you go to the guidance counselor and they tell you what the test
shows, your strength/weaknesses, likes/dislikes. unless you're allowed to fight for yourself without zero tolerance stupid mumbo
jumbo, you just assume they are right in telling you that and that the tests are the only experts.......

sad sad sad sad.......keep moooooving along like cattle when the bell rings

This really should not be a huge suprise to the Schenectady School District. You close all but one middle school (like you closed one of two high schools) and what's left?? One over-crowded, poorly thought-out educational nightmare. Like Cicero says, if you can't keep a principle with a 6-figure salary on board...how horrible of an environment is it!!

The current admin and higher ups can't contain the violence, intervention is needed, The City is useless and the State is sorely needed. The State should have been called in years ago.
