Where are the nuns with rulers
And
The principals with paddles

No respect for anyone because they have no fear

Start enforcing and adjudicating the smallest issues to the point of being a hassle and the hassled will leave

End the hand outs and those looking will leave

Only the people can fix the issue

Right now they like this bs

I use the casual phrase casually; for I do not concern myself with the gentleman but with the citizen. Nevertheless, there is this historic half-truth in the case for aristocracy; that it is sometimes a little easier for the aristocrat, at his best, to have this last touch of culture which is a superiority to culture. Nevertheless, the truth of which I speak has nothing to do with any special culture of any special class. It has belonged to any number of peasants, especially when they were poets; it is this which gives a sort of natural distinction to Robert Burns and the peasant poets of Scotland. The power which produces it more effectively than any blood or breed is religion; for religion may be defined as that which puts the first things first. Robert Burns was justifiably impatient with the religion he inherited from Scottish Calvinism; but he owed something to his inheritance. His instinctive consideration of men as men came from an ancestry which still cared more for religion than education. The moment men begin to care more for education than for religion they begin to care more for ambition than for education. It is no longer a world in which the souls of all are equal before heaven, but a world in which the mind of each is bent on achieving unequal advantage over the other. There begins to be a mere vanity in being educated whether it be self-educated or merely state-educated. Education ought to be a searchlight given to a man to explore everything, but very specially the things most distant from himself. Education tends to be a spotlight; which is centered entirely on himself. Some improvement may be made by turning equally vivid and perhaps vulgar spotlights upon a large number of other people as well. But the only final cure is to turn off the limelight and let him realize the stars.

Back in the day, did they hand out drugs like Ritilan to kids like they were Pez?  Were kids beginning in Kindergarten labeled with some sort of disorder because the "authorities" determined that a rambunctious 5 year old that disrupts the teachers lesson plan is not "normal", and has some sort of imbalance that can be corrected with a stimulant drug like Ritalin.

Just sayin....the schools can't be stuffing children full of stimulants and then become outraged when kids start acting out.  May as well give the little ones a some cocaine or meth to get them to focus.

They do give them meth. Adderall contains meth. I kid you not. That's what is so galling about those Drug Free School Zone signs. As if.

sorta off topic but not really

earlier tonight saw a man (older teen) throw a young woman to the ground, he was on top of her, he quite large. She was yelling I can't breath, and get off of me.  At first you don't know if they are just "playing" but they were not.
He then hit her in the face and I heard her say something about her glasses. I called 911, seemed longer but I guess 10 minutes go by.
Before cops come I see two grown men walking by, I ask them to help her, they completely ignore me and go about their "business" I think that could
be your Mom, your sister, your niece, but maybe that's the norm for them : (

Kids playing nearby, oblivious except one young boy who looks concerned and repeatedly goes back and forth on his bike.

He throws her up against the car has her bent over backwards.

People drive buy, some stop and pull over and do nothing, they are just going about their "business"

Cops come and I shut my door. And I pray that they see her messed up clothes, her possibly broken glasses. I pray she does not say everything is fine, either out of fear or that she deserves this.

Back in the 70's when my Mom repeatedly assaulted by her husband, cops did nothing if they didn't see it. Even when I cried to them to help.

I pray something was done for this young woman, and that she realizes that she is not  a punching bag, that she is a human being with worth and
deserves respect.

So I guess this really is on topic, as what are these children/teens seeing, what are they exposed to, do they have anyone that cares?  As their own
parents are involved in this violence, just imagine what they go "home' to after school.

If my child was a student at Mt. Pleasant I would not allow them to attend anymore.

They have to have zero tolerance for this behavior.

And I do not want to hear from parents, board members or the community that more black kids are being suspended and that its a racial thing. I don't
care what color a kid is, if they are dispruptive/violent it HAS to be dealt with.

Adderall and Rialin are schedule 2 drugs.  Same as cocaine, methamphetamines, and opiates.  Yeah, they care about the kids.  They want docile kids that are compliant so the administrators and teachers can maintain control.  They don't care about the chemical lobotomy prescibed in order to get compliance, and all the side effects that come with it.  We live in Nazi Germany.

The way I hear people talking about children and their solution to behavior problems really angers me.  THEY ARE CHILDREN.  Nobody wants to blame the system for the problems, the adults blame the kids for the problem THEY created.

This was a quote from the article:

We have friends who's kid goes to college...out of state. ANY and ALL students can go to the college campus 'doc in a box' and ask for adderall AND GET IT!!!!

Now here's the kicker.....the PARENTS of the kid is the ones who suggested to their kid to get adderall!!! The parents actually told us that it helps their kid stay up all night and focus on studying for the next days test...YUP!!

TRUE STORY!!!

I know middle class parents of young children who are only too happy to have their kid 'diagnosed' and drugged. One couple, I've met their daughter, she's fine, just a few idiosyncrasies, they are just thrilled to pieces that she's officially ADD, or whatever they call it now. Her teacher says she's "more able to focus". Her teacher? Where is the woman's degree in medicine, or child psychology, or anything that even remotely qualifies her to suggest medical treatment and evaluate its effectiveness? I think sometimes it might make the parents feel important that their kid is "special", or with some parents, giving their child a label of having some disorder requiring medicine excuses them from having to think too hard about whether their behavior might play a role in their child's poor performance in school.
I'm sure there are parents struggling and doing the best they can with kids who have conditions that do require medication, but not in these numbers.

I agree with much of this. Too many parents do  need their children to be "special" to validate themselves.

I think these students and their antisocial behavior is  more of a result of their environment.  This behavior is the normal social behavior for many of them. They are living in almost constant violence, they've never been treated with respect--not real respect,  at least, and they have limited expectations from life.

For a long time I use to try to remember that these young thugs didn't always want to be like this. When they were little they wanted to be firemen, and police men and artists and presidents, but then life got in the way. This new generation though, I don't know, they're so broken, a lot of them never even had the opportunity to dream of something different.

The vast majority of children do not need drugs.  Kids are being institutionalized at earlier and earlier ages, and developing these tics because of strict structure they are forced to conform to.  These kids are being put into daycare as early as 3 months old.  Kid are subjected to structured environments and are never allowed to let their personalities develop, they are not allowed to explore, or create, or just goof off, they are not allowed to be individuals.  Well, not unless the authorities say they can, and tell them when they can. Every little behavior a child shows is evaluated and corrected to fit some predetermined mold of acceptable behavior created by technocrats.  These behaviors are for the health of the institution, not the health of the children.  They are squeezing the life out of children because they must behave in accordance with institutional rules.

I actually went to a school meeting about school safety after the Sandy Hook shooting.  The resource officer bragged about how the kids wouldn't even think of misbehaving in the hallways because of all the resource officer watching them.  And that the kids know they can't get away with misbehaving because people are watching everywhere.  Constant surveillance, constant threats of discipline.  That isn't a normal environment, that is conditioning for a police state.  We are living in dangerous times.

it's very sad and pathetic.....it's not the kids who can't cope....it's the system/society

Yes, the adults used to take "mothers little helper"(valium) to cope with rambunctious kids.  Now they figured they can drug the kids by labeling them with a hyper activity disorder, to help the adults cope.  Of course it's not the parents fault, their kids have a disorder.  The parents are victims of an abnormally active child.
