Just saw on the news on Ch 10 they interviewed Leeza about that proposed fee for businesses having block parties.
She said they (the city) can't be putting burdens on, inconveniencing their constituents.
What do they think they are doing to their constituents by making them foot the bill for the taxes of all mayor's and dem council members' political cronies?
They story referenced Pinhead Susan's, that guy said the ONLY service they get from the city is borrowing the barricades, they have their own security and they don't need to call the police. OK, I get it, they are a very responsible business and have a behavior expectation. I wonder if the city will charge King Philip $200 and all the other businesses downtown when State St is closed. I'll bet that they would charge Rudnicks during the Xmas parade but not the restaurants, nor the hair salon, nor the theaters, etc, in other words, all tax exempt busineses will be exempt from the fees.
But did you hear her at the end of the council meeting today. She can't handle Riggi's popularity.
I haven't followed closely, is Leeza up for election this year or is her seat two years from now?
Actually there was Peggy King trying to tell Mary McClane that she was out of order because she wasn't talking on legislative business during the POF on the legislative agenda when Mary started her comments saying that she's running for council, was interrupted, but Mary ignored King, and kept right on going and said something like "and people ask me what I would do, and in reference to agenda item 1 and 2, if I was on the council I would......" No problem whatsoever.
The dems must be worried and don't want the TV audience to make the connection between these great "pro-taxpayer" speeches and the fact that the people speaking are candidates.
But again, as Bumble said, and I explained why, in another thread, need half the city to speak like Harry Brand and fellow informed taxpayers.
