Should be released within 3 weeks, right? By Oct 1?
It is an ABSOLUTE NECESSITY that the council vote to finalize the budget BEFORE Election Day as it is an ABSOLUTE NECESSITY that the taxpayers and residents know how the council voted on the spending the taxpayers money BEFORE Election Day.
Any debates this year MUST include a statement by the incumbent council candidates confirming how they will vote on the budget, not just a lame comment such as "I will vote to hold taxes to the lowest possible," because that's not something that can be measured by the taxpayers.
So VERY sad that homeowners are prohibited from seeing their 2014 tax bill BEFORE Election Day.
Wonder how many assessment grievances got reduced. How many lawsuits are there because Mc's political cronies on the BAR won't reduce assessments to the true value of the houses.

I'm wondering if some of these houses in the real estate program that got sold had their assessments reduced. When Roger Hull raised questions about budgeting previously, McCheese and Company told a whole bunch of lies to refute what he said. I think some of the people did not know they were lying because they don't understand a GD thing about budgets or finance and didn't want to appear ignorant. Mr. Riggi,by asking questions, revealed himself to be the much smarter person, as he is not afraid to show it when he does not understand something, in order to become better informed.

Where has Hull been? Did he give up?

I'm wondering if some of these houses in the real estate program that got sold had their assessments reduced. ....
There's really two issues here.
1. Of all homeowners (whether they just bought a house OR have owned their house 40 years) how many grieved to the board this past May? Of THAT number, how many were successful at the board level? And because the crony board responds with "denied, insufficient data," then how many to to small claims or tax certorari? (I believe the certorari cases are contained in council minutes).
2. Of all the homes in the mayor's "HOMES" program (the socialist real estate business), how many houses have sold? Of those that actually did sell, how many of those owners grieved their assessments? How many won at the board level, and how many had to go to the next level.
The answers to these won't easily be known til May 1, 2014 when the tentative assessment roll for next year is published.
Regarding #1 above, it's nearly impossible to find this information unless you had a list of all houses that the owners filed a grievance. However, those that were denied and had to to through the certorari phase, that will be answered partially in council meetings, you just don't know how much of a reduction, not til next spring.
Regarding #2 above, if you had old newspapers, or refer to some of the threads posted here, you can find out the houses have have been offered for sale in the mayor's program. Then look up if they have sold. If they sold, and since you'd have the address, you can find out the difference in assessment from the assessment roll on the city's website and compare to what has been reported as assessed value during the open houses.
Simple.
As simple as referring to the list of houses in the open house tours and looking up to see IF they sold (most haven't). But you can see how much the asking prices have had to be reduced and how the houses have been offered for sale for 6 months, a year, and more with no willing buyers.
