Why don't they just TELL US what happened? The police made an arrest, for drugs? Just for drugs, when the guy was allegedly driving a stolen vehicle? The vehicle that was found parked, but this guy was the 'driver'? What about the other seven violent men? I know there is likely an ongoing investigation, but this isn't high level sensitive stuff. A news blackout on crime doesn't do anyone any good. In fact, if I were trying to sell or buy or rent property anywhere near the State/McClellan area, it would really matter a lot to me whether this guy got ripped off in a drug deal or whether strangers robbed him of his car at gunpoint.
So true.
But it's an election year for city council people, so the mayor for sure doesn't want ANY reminder to voters that the city has major problems.
We all know who on these boards cheers for the mayor and his dem team, can even be quoted as recently as four months ago saying "the Mayor McCarthy and his team are doing a great job in the city. Keep up the good work."
Yes, they are going a great job. Doing a great job keeping the truths hidden from the people.
Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent. Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.
The problem is, these articles that tell half a story or less do so much damage. I don't know why some of these dopes don't realize it. The paper puts out all these "it's great to be in Schenectady" articles, but then they join in the Schenectady bashing by printing these cryptic "Schenectady is a crime-ridden black hole stories. If they would only print as much of the facts as are known, people could form their own educated conclusions. A drug deal where someone gets ripped off, happens every day, all over the place, big deal. But armed men, taking your car? That is scary. So they need to print the full story, for people who can't put two and two together. I know people who are scared to go to the Holiday Parade, scared to visit Upper Union businesses in broad daylight, does it never occur to these people putting out these half-stories that when you have events like the ones we had downtown over the weekend people might be scared to come and bring their children because they think there are crazed gunmen running amuck all over town? In the absence of facts, people come up with their own overblown fears.
Speaking of keeping secrets by the dems and plex in Schenectady, how about this.
What is the big secret about this one?
Has the news even stated exactly where this robbery took place? Or is this being kept secret by the dems and plex? I will apologize if someone can provide a link to the news story that states where it happened.
And other than that one guy who was arrested for being in possession of the stolen car, has anything else been reported? Have they found the guys who did this? Have they said anything about the victim - why did he have that much money on him at that hour of the morning?

Are there really too many gangs of 8 black men in Schenectady to narrow down the suspect list?
That work Sunday mornings?
On State Street?
Come on, it's less than one mile of State Street.
Congratulations on showing the value of the million dollar camera network spread across the city.
Media outlets .... today .... are deliberately holding back information....all levels of the media.
they are ALL government controlled.

Don't people who live on McClellan street deserve to know whether or not there is a pack of criminals next door? There are some nice, friendly people still living there.
