There's a new Taco place on State Street in the building that used to house LaMontagne appliances. I am mentioning it because that area is struggling along but showing faint signs of improvement. I don't know if that is still Central State Street up that far, but above about Western Parkway the are glimmers of hope, but they have nothing at all to do with Death Ray or city government, except that the best thing city government could do for that area is get rid of Death Ray and fix the taxes, maintain/restore the proper level of city service, and then stand back and let free people help themselves. Doing something about all the DSS fraud and abuse couldn't hurt, either.
Avon is right! That is what is happening! Bumble, I respectfully disagree SOMEWHAT about getting the other party in there. New people from another party are not going to be "in on it". Yes, they might eventually become "in on it", but that takes time and effort, to build a new freeload system. This oneis starting to teeter on the brink, we have to give it a shove. Ms. Brucker is taking off, that's a sign that there is trouble in paradise. This is a chance! When you clean out your refrigerator, you know that you will eventually have to do it again, but you don't leave the rotten stuff in there because the new stuff will eventually spoil anyway. Not unless you want to have to throw out the refrigerator as well. Schenectady is that refrigerator! OMG. I need to calm down.
This is the reason we should never vote to re-elect anyone.
Would like to point out the new Dave and Busters in Albany...over 170 new jobs. That is triple the amount of the same type of jobs the Death-Plex brought into downtown within the last DECADE!!
Thank you Mr. Gillen...you lost GE jobs, never saw the potential in the Beechnut Company, lost Dave & Busters and drove out many good Schenectady businesses like Olenders, Bancock Bistro, Rudnicks, Mr. James, etc. The failed Death-Plex pet projects like the Parker Inn, Cardio Mag have never been repaid to the taxpayers as well.

Gillen, you're not worth even a cent of the $162k+ the taxpayers have forked over to you. You're the poster-child of what a friends and families gold card member looks like!!
It's worse than that. The few State jobs that Manning brought in are decamping to Delmar. County home sales are DOWN 12% with the median sale price UNDER $100,000 both worst in the Capital District. It's the insane taxes-stupid. BTW, the $162,000 bloated salary does not count medical benes, perks and retirement excesses. Death Ray is a DEM production. Until voters throw out imcumbacrats this implosion will continue. Where is the national toy store Downtown-how about a McD's? No one wants anything to do with these self described planners. The good news is that DEMS are finally waking up to the elite crony capitalism that is destroying their property values and making this County the laughingstock of Upstate. Got Allegro Cafe?
The dim light lets the criminals, who all vote democrap along with their families- stay safe from detection
"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
Run by all DEM dim wits. This Erie "project" should be investigated by the AG. Totally unneeded, unwanted, opposed by every business which permanently disrupts traffic patterns and ruins businesses. Avoid Erie like the plague-use Broadway or Michigan Ave exits off 890. Keep the implosion going!
