A list of highest paid public servants has Schenectady Count with three in the top ten. Number Three: Ray Gillen with a whopping $162,321 to throw taxpayer money from a
train and hand out tax exemptions to multimillionaire developers. Crony Capitalism Schenectady Stylin. Gee lower State St really looks good with all your efforts. Number Eight: DA Bob Carney. Only in Schenectady County can a total failure collect $13,000 more than the best DA in the region. No wonder Schenectady County taxes are 4X higher than Saratoga and 3X higher than Albany with these outrageous salaries.

Well, apparently salaries are not based upon performance.

$162,321??  For what?? Loss of jobs, closing of practically ever business on Erie Blvd, empty neighborhoods of falling-down drug dens and raping of the middle class taxpayers.

Disgusting!

Wait, where is King Philip?   He makes more than Gillen.

Oh that's write, the FACT that his salary is paid by the taxpayers viar two lines in the county budget is a piece of information that must be kept hush hush.   Of course, the county budget simply writes "Proctors" but intelligent "nayboobs" know that when Line 1 plus Line 2 equals Kink Philip's salary it's obvious the county is paying his lavish salary.

And what do residents get in return for such a big salary?   What is the taxpayer funded (tens of millions of taxpayer dollars) and plus taxpayer funded salary for it's leader plus 100% permanent tax exemption doing for us?

What is this "investment" doing to our tax base?   Our taxes?   Our home values?   The home sale prices?   The home sale numbers?   The essential services provided to us by our local governments?  To the neighborhoods?

Why are the cheerleaders for this spending TOTALLY SILENT providing an answer (with evidence)?

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

Wonder who would be making $162K if the reps were in?

You KNOW that it would be one from their 'friends and family' club!

I have  yet to hear ONE rep say that they would run for office and would campaign on abolishing the PLEX............NOT ONE!!!

So if it wasn't METROPLEX/GILLEN..........it would clearly be someone else!!!

sad ain't it?

O'Connor, McGary, Brad....They had it right but got no support from the voters.  That's because in Rotterdam, all the friends and family gumbas got their assessments lowered to the point where they can put that extra cash under their mattresses.   So they are sittin' fat dumb and happy...just the way they like it!

Avon is right! That is what is happening! Bumble, I respectfully disagree SOMEWHAT about getting the other party in there. New people from another party are not going to be "in on it". Yes, they might eventually become "in on it", but that takes time and effort, to build a new freeload system. This oneis starting to teeter on the brink, we have to give it a shove. Ms. Brucker is taking off, that's a sign that there is trouble in paradise. This is a chance! When you clean out your refrigerator, you know that you will eventually have to do it again, but you don't leave the rotten stuff in there because the new stuff will eventually spoil anyway. Not unless you want to have to throw out the refrigerator as well. Schenectady is that refrigerator!
OMG. I need to calm down.

Would like to point out the new Dave and Busters in Albany...over 170 new jobs. That is triple the amount of the same type of jobs the Death-Plex brought into downtown within the last DECADE!!

Thank you Mr. Gillen...you lost GE jobs, never saw the potential in the Beechnut Company, lost Dave & Busters and drove out many good Schenectady businesses like Olenders, Bancock Bistro, Rudnicks, Mr. James, etc. The failed Death-Plex pet projects like the Parker Inn, Cardio Mag have never been repaid to the taxpayers as well.

Gillen, you're not worth even a cent of the $162k+ the taxpayers have forked over to you. You're the poster-child of what a friends and families gold card member looks like!!
