So a friend of mine sold her home in Rotterdam late last year. It was a great deal in a desirable area so the couple who bought it did so without selling their place first. The new homeowners moved into the new place and are now trying to sell their home which is also located in Rotterdam. The Final Roll issued by the Town Assessor shows that both homes are getting the basic STAR exemption. Their original home is definitely empty as shown in the MLS online.
So what's with that????? If you know the Assessor, it's a wink and nod???
Doesn't somebody check for that type of thing? |

Maybe we should cut the assessor a break. I'm sure he will be checking the sale records for this year and figure out what was overlooked. |

I say do the following: 1. Call the assessor's office 2. Call the TU who broke the story on King Philip, tell them Rotterdam is still doing it. I mean really, I could understand SOMEWHAT if the someone moved from a totally different county into Rotterdam, but we are talking one person in Rotterdam having two properties in Rotterdam both have the STAR. That IS indicative of a town office which is NOT doing it's job. 3. Call Ch 6 4. Call the State Comptroller's office. Don't just gripe over this stuff and sit back and do nothing. Report it. |

the only numbers the assessor is interested in are those he is running the dude reminds me of Nathan Detroit - he just does not have the looks of Frank Sinatra - HOT - NOT -this boy could make dried boxed uncooked spaghetti "la pasta e' scotta" |
