I hope that there isn't a shutdown,
But,
In the long run, a US gov't shutdown may be a good thing.  It will speed the demise of the TeaBaggin
Republicans into oblivion.

Yeah, just like the devastating sequester that shut down White House tours.lol

OHHH NOOOOO!!!  The NSA won't be able to collect and store the phone records of American!!!  Or they won't be able to pay the IRS to collect the Obamacare penalty.  Or the IRS won't be able to film their Star Trek or The Apprentice parody.  OHHH NOOO...So much damage that could happen...What to do?

Most Americans don't even know what a shut down means, all they hear is what propaganda the media tells them and many times it is nothing but fear mongering, the truth to the matter is it will have hardly any effect on them or how the government is run.

A new New York Times/CBS News poll finds 8 in 10 Americans find it unacceptable for either
President Obama or members of Congress to threaten to shut down the government during
budget negotiations in order to achieve their goals. Fewer than 1 in 5 think the stalemate
between President Obama and the Republicans in Congress is acceptable.

Twenty percent is a pretty big number.  I understand that you believe the 20% should be steamrolled.  Lets say 200 million Americans are over 18, that would mean 40 million must comply with a law they disagree with.  Tyranny of the majority.

You are talking about a poll.  Polls change daily and are a snapshot of public feeling on the day taken.

Tyranny is your favorite word.  You couldn't live a day with out it.  How about a difference of opinion
where one group wants to subvert the will of the people by removing a law, simply because they
disagree with it.

It's time they accept the law of the land as just that... Legal, supreme court verified, law.

There is a very appropriate saying about Republicans:

"A Republican cannot really enjoy his meal, unless he knows that someone some where is starving."

I think this follows the same logic:
"If EVERYONE has health care like I and my GOP fellow citizens do... then some how I've lost something."

If all Americans have affordable health care, the entire country is better off.

The GOP Plan For Victory
(Suppress the Vote)

"A lot of minorities, a lot of younger people will not turn out in an non-presidential year.
It's a great year for Republicans!"

-- Nevada Assembly Minority Leader Pat Hickey  in a radio interview, predicting big GOP wins next year.

So the 'job creators' are going to put a few hundred thousand federal workers on the street with no pay?
That makes sense.
Should work wonders for the economy.
