Ted Cruz Signs Up For Obamacare

Ted Cruz had to sign up for Obamacare using the federal exchange as a Texas resident.

President Signs Order Making Ted Cruz Ineligible for Obamacare

Quoted Text
WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report) — Just hours after Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) told
CNN that he had no choice but to sign up for Obamacare, President Barack Obama signed
an executive order making Cruz ineligible for coverage under the Affordable Care Act.

“Clearly, the hardship of receiving Obamacare was causing Ted a great deal of pain,” the
President said. “This should take care of that.”

Obama acknowledged that the executive order, which makes Cruz the only American
expressly forbidden from signing up for Obamacare, was an extraordinary measure, but
added, “I felt it was a necessary humanitarian gesture to protect Ted from the law he hates.”

Even as he signed the order, the President said that he was “torn” about barring Cruz
from coverage, stating,”He’s definitely someone who would benefit from seeing a doctor.”

In an official statement released later in the day, Cruz blasted the executive order and
accused Obama of distorting his position on Obamacare: “I never said I didn’t want to
have it. I said I didn’t want everyone else in the country to have it.”

Cruz is legally required to get on ObamaCare as he is losing his coverage because his wife is taking a unpaid leave of absence from her job at Goldman Sachs... because he is running...

Like Peter King said, Cruz is a carnival barker, but in reality, he had no choice...either follow the law, or have to deal with the press ripping his wife for her Goldman Sachs employ.

Cruz's net worth is $3.5 million, his salary is $174k, his wife works for Goldman Sachs as an executive most likely netting a 6 figure salary.  At a modest household income estimate between the he and his wife, and income from his $3.5 million net worth, I would estimate between $300k - 400k income annually.  With the 2.5% fine imposed by Obamacare for those that choose not to purchase medical insurance, he would be fined between $7500 and $10,000 per year.  So yes, Cruz purchased Obamacare at the point of a gun, if he didn't, the Feds would come and steal thousands of dollars from he and his family.

Another example of that American freedom.

"At the point of a gun"... How dramatic!  Cruz will never be with out health care, with or without ObamaCare.
His promise, if elected, is to take away affordable health care from the rest of us, who do need ObamaCare.

Dramatic?  How are fines collected, a friendly letter from the IRS?

When the rest of President Cruz's Americans have no health care insurance, Cruz will still have his... as US Taxpayers die for lack
of health care.

What does that have to do with the government fining a person for not having medical insurance for medical care that they can pay for?  I thought your argument was that people that don't have insurance end up costing everybody to pay for their medical care.  In Cruz's case, he is worth millions.  Why would you fine a person if they can afford to pay their own medical care if and when needed?

People that have millions and make millions DO NOT PAY FOR THEIR OWN MEDICAL EXPENSES.....
they find low cost solutions and loopholes so that their expenses are covered without having to invest
thousands of their own money.

people with $$ privately pay for a top notch doctor without waiting in line.....

it has less to do with $$ and more about access......because no matter what an actor, actress, politician, prominent business owners
will GET SEEN FIRST.

For Example???
Ted Cruz didn't pay his health care bills from his $millions, his wife's employer paid them... Now the
US Taxpayer will provide Cruz a low cost heath care insurance plan.

how is that a loophole?
His wife's employer offered family health coverage as part of her benefits package...just like my employer does, and the vast majority of employers that offer health plans

Man, the lengths some will go to vilify someone else...
