taken (stolen) by the city.

One property overdue taxes are over $200,000    !!!!!!!!!!!!!

And on Crane St. a Marcella in arrears

understand the list of arrears......why anyone would want to know who is......beyond me.......isn't anything private anymore.....and who are we to judge .......people are struggling......average people...the business people

should be ashamed....but average citizen ....no........some can't even buy food........and welfare may be a big problem around here.....why aren't we going after those people......wonder what the percentage is there....

Schenectady is not what it used to be and never will be again.......the whole country is caput.....

so let's not judge those who can't pay.......and remember...reading that list...many, many, have properties that look like rentals......landlords that are scamming the government....

Long list?

Wait, who said the city is improving?

Who said the city is in a renaissance?

Notice there's no response from that person.

Oh, but the dems give him a tax exemption for the new building that was built with the taxpayers' money?

Patches I'm not judging the homeowners who are struggling who are on that list.

But there are business people on  there who are NOT paying taxes for their business's (PILOTS)

And there are landlords with a long list of houses owned who are many thousands in arrears and you know they are collecting rent.

So as usual this will all fall back onto the average homeowners in Schdy.  I think I'll be on the list next year

This will just continue. The struggling home owner that is living in an undervalued / over taxed house is a present day reality. As far as  the ones who belong to the 'friends and family club'............they were always there and will continue to be no matter what political party is in control. The faces and names may change....but that's about it!!!

the dems may be in control of the plex.....but why does anyone think the reps created it in the first place? They would be doing the same exact thing!!

the honest hard working home owners are the ONLY ones getting screwed here.....but then again that is really nothing new.

I went into Marcella's yesterday.

I need a new washer.

Had no intention of buying from them, just wanted to see what they had that other dealers did not.  (Like Speed Queen)

They were doing decent business at noon on Tuesday.  Not packed, but had a number of customers in there.

Will never buy anything from them though.

I was looking at the Speed Queen as a possibility. Right now we have one of the high-efficiency machines, a top loader. Looking to get rid of it in favor of old school machine. We had a 17 year old Whirlpool, the basket rusted out. The first load of laundry in the new machine, I should have
duct-taped the old whirlpool basket. Talk about wrinkled dress shirts, never seen them so bad. Looking back, as usual, I should have returned it immediately. I have goofed around with the water setting, once I found where it was, now at least there's a little more water for the clothes.
Shirts are a little better with more water to move around in. I would not recommend one of these newer machines, from my continuing experiences.

this is so that we 'conserve' water, even in Minnesota- the land of 10,000 lakes where they must have a terrible water shortage. Of course with the federal "one size fits all" approach that the tyrants love, Arizona and Minnesota and places like Rotterdam Junktion (water shortage) ALL have the same crap to live with

I was warned off of the new machines by someone who purchased one. I got a hardly used older machine from a relative when I needed to replace mine, I will try to make it last. The new ones can smell bad, too.

Smell?, yeah that can be there also, I know especially with the new front loaders. there are some major league mold issues with some of those models. I havent seen any
outward signs of it on my machine. With mine, I actually think the he detergents, if not rinsed fully out, are possibly part of the odor problem.  We use the cleaner cycle at least once a week also. We cut way back on the amount of he detergent we use, maybe a tablespoon full we use. Screw the impeller, give me back my agitator and manually adjustable water level.

Newer high efficiency appliances have much less horsepower, but run longer.

Even air conditioners and refrigerators too.

Lower hp higher efficiency washers and dryers will fail more easily when overloaded.

Dryer drum seals and bearings wear out much quicker as well.

Generally high efficiency appliances are not heavy duty at all.

They don't always tell you this about front load washers but  a) you really shouldn't leave the door closed when not in use (that helps air it out) and b) water gets in between the rubber gasket and the door opening which allows mold to grow ... so you have to buy a product that kills mold and run the washer (no clothes) with some of the product in there.

I do agree though that the old washers were better.  We had one that lasted 30 years with few only a few minor problems until it literally died.  Its replacement, a front loader has already had to be replaced because the digital/computerized controls were shot, and its cheaper to buy a new one than to fix the digital/computerized controls.
