It Looks Like The Facebook Android App Can Control Your Camera And Take Pictures Without Telling You DYLAN LOVE MAY 10, 2013, 3:53 PM 7,117
CNBC's Eli Langer put together a Storify collecting tweets and posts that suggest the Facebook app on Android might be a security risk.
Probably most damning evidence is this screenshot:

Yep. That says that the app has permission to "record audio at any time" and "use the camera at any time" without your confirmation.
A spokesperson for Facebook explains this as follows: the language in this disclaimer comes from Google and wasn't written up by Facebook, it's simply how Android handles camera access. While it is technically possible for the Facebook app to record video and audio without your knowing, the spokesperson said Facebook won't do that.
When the INSANE are running the ASYLUM In individuals, insanity is rare; but in groups, parties, nations and epochs, it is the rule. -- Friedrich Nietzsche
“How fortunate for those in power that people never think.” Adolph Hitler
Most newer phones today can be used to record without your knowledge, its not just the facebook app it is your phone.
"In the beginning of a change, the Patriot is a scarce man, brave, hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, however, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a Patriot."
From the guy who suspended habeas corpus. He was the first to implement the NDAA.

It says a lot about how out of touch some of the board Anti Govt anarchists truly are.

Government schooling WORKS! When the state paid indoctrinators push their world view into the soft minds of children unchallenged, you will get these poll results.
Poll results don't change the fact he suspended habeas corpus and started a war killing hundreds of thousands. It just reaffirms that most Anericans are too stupid the critically think a decipher between these historical facts and school propaganda. And anytime facts are presented that are critical of Saint Lincoln, you get a response like box.

Out of touch. Much of what the Libertarians promote on this board is 'fringe politics' that only appeal to a select few of society. When you look at the Anti Govt Haters, the numbers drop below 'fringe politics" to the 'extreme'! On most public forums, the Anti Govt Haters would be laughed out of existence... it appears that the 'reasonable alternatives' to their philosophy on this board have all left the board, leaving an appearance of validity. Outside of this board... there is almost NO SUPPORT FOR THEIR VIEWS. I'm glad they at least have this outlet to vent their frustration.

The ability to turn on your camera or your microphone has been around for nearly 20 years.
There are tons of trojans that have been used since the mid 90's that perform these functions.
All a person has to do is accept an email and click on what appears to be a link, and they may have just installed a trojan, and possibly sent an email with their ip address to the trojan sender.
When you see a link in an email that ends in .com it may be a program, not a link.
The .com suffix is used interchangeably with .exe.
I have seen these programs installed hundreds of times on computers I was upgrading/servicing.
They can watch your desktop, log your keystrokes, use your mouse and keyboard, record audio/video from your computer, collect all stored passwords with a single click of a button, create firewall exceptions, open up port forwarding, install software, etc. I have seen videoconferencing software installed to run hidden, with autoaccept installed and users totally unaware.
There are still millions of people who use no antivirus/intrusion detection, or have it disabled.
