There's a letter in the Gazette about it, how the gazette has seen an increase and other papers have seen a decrease

If you buy it every day, it costs you more than subscription

But gee, if you can ONLY read the gazette by paying for it, then if you want it, you'll probably subscribe.

I don't have enough time to read a paper so I don't subscribe.   If can read the TU online FOR FREE.   TU has archives back almost 30 years FOR FREE

Gazette costs you money if even if you want to read one story from yesterday.  It would be nice to be able to look through the obituaries just to see the name, then IF tiy see a name I know, then buy the paper to read the full notice.   The Gazette does not even have obits online, not even the names alone!   You have to feel bad for the families of the deceased, people who have, as DV coined the term "extended family," I will say family across the country who the Gazette does not allow them to read and save the obituaries of family.

Ridiculous

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

The most insane thing - is that they want to charge paper subscribers an ADDED fee for electronic access.

That - to me - is stupid.

Let me help. Use the link below. Change the month and the day to any 3 letter abbreviation for the
month and then just add the date.

It may seem stupid to people outside the newspaper industry, but let me explain something.

The Gazette offered all hard copy subscribers the online version for 1 cent extra.

Who wouldn't pay a penny extra for the online subscription.

But now you have become 2 subscriptions.

Thereby upping the total circulation, while other newspapers are declining in total subscriptions.

The Times Union explained it in an article around a year ago.
