YNN and Ch 10 didn't say what area (long street you know) but an empty lot.

Wait, clarify "human remains" as opposed to "dead body."

There are a lot of dead bodies Schenectady - dead brains really, all those that don't know that the tax base is falling, home values falling, home sale and sale prices falling, ncessary city services cut/eliminated, taxes going up, and residents paying the rich cronies of the DEMS - need to open their eyes, educate them, vote those puppets out, start change in the city so the city can become a wonderful city again.

The firehouse across from the sefcu? I've been right in that area a few times since she went missing. Hate to think that she was in such a busy area and no one noticed.

No, it's a former firehouse/public library converted into a private home just past the cemetery by St Paul's.

True.  And thank you for the map, that's what I was going to look for when I heard the Bradford St reference.

Partly you hope it's her to give her family closure.  Partly you hope it's not giving a thread of hope that she's still out there somewhere alive.

If it does turn out to be her, then the whacko of a mayor the city has needs to make a joint statement with the police chief to explain why they don't look in her neighborhood.     Looking in Vale?   But then, we have to remember, the mayor appointed a chief to does not live in the city, does not pay taxes in the city, etc; he merely takes naps at his mama's house; he won't move his family here, did he ever explain why?   So he and most of the cops who live outside the city don't know the areas so what good are they.      Yet another reason to get rid of the mayor in a two years.

Really?  Curious where was that reported?   Only because we were watching FOX in the last half hour and they were saying the police were still looking for her.

TU says remains unidentifiable initially, not even an age, I mean based on the clothing reported she was wearing, I would think they would know, and at least say something like "unidentified to the public pending notification of next of kin."

I haven't heard them even say something like "police are not confirming whether this is Ms Wright, missing....."

It could have been searched but if she was walking around for a couple days nobody probably thought to search it again. I agree that K-9's should have been used as mentioned before.

NJSAR canine certified handlers offer combined experience of over 65 years in training and handling search dogs. They are dedicated to the detection and discovery of lost, missing, abducted and disoriented persons, or wherever the detection of human scent is of value.

Search for Subjects

Search and rescue canines look for people in many different scenarios:
•Lost or disoriented hikers, hunters cyclists, all terrain vehicles, and climbers
•Missing children
•Alzheimer's patients
•Drowning victims
•Homicide and suicide victims
•Victims of collapsed structures
•Victims of downed airplanes
•Forensic evidence
•Victims of natural disasters including earthquakes and floods

Air Scent

Air scent dogs scan air currents with their noses for any generic human scent. The have scenting ability 200 times that of a human being which enables them to detect even trace amounts of scent at considerable distances or that emit from concealed locations. Search and rescue canines are trained to reliably indicates to their human handler to the location of the source of the scent. The source could be a person (living or deceased), an articles of evidence handled by a criminal subject, and article dropped by a lost person - anything that has come in contact with the subject. The source can be visible, concealed, or buried.

There is an element of human scent common to all persons regardless of sex, age or race. Air scent search and rescue dogs are trained to detect this generic element. Therefore, they can effectively search for unidentified or multiple missing persons - such as in the aftermath of an earthquake, tornado, airplane crash or even under the snow. Another benefit to detecting generic scent is that a scent article is not needed. As long as the source exists, scent will still be emitted - making it possible for air scent dogs to detect this scent hours, weeks, months, and even years later.

Search Terrain

Search and rescue canines can search efficiently in all types of weather and environments:
•Suburban and urban areas
•Woods, forest, and wilderness areas
•Ponds, lakes, streams, and rivers
•Dense brush or tall grass
•Avalanches or under snowfall
•Rock and mudslides
•Floods

Deployment

It is best to deploy search and rescue canines immediately. However, air scent search and rescue dogs can be effective days, weeks, months or even years following an incident.

It is suggested to call authorities immediately to put NJSAR canine resources on stand-by alert when a potential search situation arises. Keep in mind that air scent dogs can be efficient at any time and under almost any condition or weather.

NJSAR and NJSAR canine resources does not self deploy and will only respond at the request of an official agency. NJSAR can be reached 24 hours a day, 7 days a week via Bergen County, NJ Emergency Police Communications at (201) 646-2705. If in doubt in a potential search situation, please call us at (973) 919-6711 for deployment consultation and an officers of the NJSAR Canine team will evaluate your situation as to the suitability of air scent dogs to your task.

Handler Training

NJSAR canine certifies handlers offer combined experience of over 65 years in training and handling search dogs. They are dedicated to the detection and discovery of lost, missing, abducted, and disoriented persons or wherever the detection of human scent is of value.

All NJSAR canin handlers and support personnel arrive on scent with the ability to be self-sufficient. The have the skills and training to cooperate with and work well with requesting agencies to find the missing person as quickly as possible.

No K-9 search, no search in earnest.

Nope, not in Schenectady.

The TAXPAYERS' money should have been used to do much more thorough search for this woman, and do it closer to her home.

But, the DEM LEADERSHIP, is using the TAXPAYERS' money for fancy lighting on Erie Blvd while a this woman was missing and while the other end of Erie Blvd is in shambles.

And of course, the TAXPAYERS' money being used to put a Vegas style marquee on Proctors, King Philip can't even spent Proctors' money on it?   Gee whiz, they just had a funraiser for Proctors that stupid pink and brew, is Proctors doing THAT BAD that they have to have fundraisers.

And the TAXPAYERS' money is going to fund the millionaires new buildings and then cover their property and school taxes.

Now HOW is that a renaissance?   How can ANYONE say the city is improving when money is WASTED on "fancy lighting" while failing to address missing people.

And the mayor wants people to buy a home in the city?

Yet some still shake their pom poms claiming the city is improving.   Proof otherwise, such as this, is NOT addressed by the cheerleaders for the city/county dems.

This is an awful story, a terrible ending that did NOT have to be this way.   Sadly the people that keep voting in these jerks don't realize it.   Hell, when, can anyone tell us WHEN has the news reported, in plain language, that the city's tax base is falling as more money is spent on downtown???

Even the cheerleader, shaking pom poms for the dems refuses to speak on the city's tax base!
