No, I am not wrong, visitor, read Box's post about talking to the DA. I was here, I saw what happened to Hamilton Hill and Mont Pleasant and Van Vranken Avenue and Eastern Avenue and Central State Street firsthand. Your saying I'm not right does not make it so. This area was used as a dump for problems from elsewhere. COINCIDENTALLY, at exactly the same time all these problem people got dumped here on purpose, everybody already living here decided to become violent? Yeah, that makes sense. BTW, what up with your colleague who threatened a 17 year old? How long will it take to continue to investigate? My guess is exactly as long as it takesto get his twenty years in.
Lot od the major shooting involved local kids. Cleanerz, 4block all locals - or have you not hear of those groups. Ever heard of the Nissan posse - all local kids. Noassan posse was group of kids involve din shootings and drug sales back in the 80s. But, you knew that. You became an expert by reading the newspaper.
He's not my colleague and what the hell does that have to with this discussion?
I don't think there is any questioning the problems are spreading throughout the city, there was always bad neighborhoods but those areas are expanding. Look at Crane St or VanVranken, they used to be decent areas but now they're just as $hitty as Hamilton Hill. Same goes for Eastern Ave neighborhood, that area went down the drain and it shows no signs of stopping there. No doubt Schenectady is the dumping ground for the scum, how many people are arrested which come from NYC, they come to this area because they think it is a safe harbor, all there connections are here.
"In the beginning of a change, the Patriot is a scarce man, brave, hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, however, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a Patriot."
There is an influx of NYers - that much is true, the amount they contributed to the initial downturn od this City is overstated. Two things happened which were much more important - cocaine and a bad economy.
Talking about Hamilton Hill - when I grew up there, most owed their homes and everyone worked.
It's not like the hill is some magical or cursed place - One major factor is the percentage of 1 versus 2 family homes. the areas which are lower in crime have more one families. In fact, look at MP and divide the neighborhood by Norwood and 8th o 10th. Big difference.
