I could give a rat's a$$ if they frack or not!!! Our ground and drinking water is already polluted....DUH!!

HOWEVER.....what i find most amusing is the fact that the anti-frackers are the pawns who are allowing themselves into being used and is ignited by both the rabid right and the luny leftys that have a financial interest in BIG OIL!!! And that is the TRUTH!!!

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....when will the sheople smarten up???

If not, then lets perfect the process until it is safe.
Nothing political there.

Who decides when it is perfected and "safe" and who prevents fracking until those people determine it is perfected?  Politicians!

They always decide it's safe when their pockets are satisfactorily lined.

EVERYTHING IMPACTS THE ENVIRONMENT.
NOTHING IS 100% SAFE.  That only exists in the liberal utopia.
The question is always, do the benefits outweigh the risks.
The entire infrastructure of every major city has a negative environmental impact.  Yet, that is where all the liberals in power tend to reside when preaching their environmental BS.

Cissy states the obvious then goes on and on about Liberals this Liberals that.  (Yawn)

At one time in our country wearing seat belts was considered extreme... today it's the norm.
At one time in this country, DWI deaths were considered part of the risk of driving... Today
driving drunk has serious consequences.
At one time, both air and water pollution were considered part of a prosperous community...
Today they are recognized as a net minus for a community and cause of serious health
concerns.

SO... back to the safety of Fracking... If it is safe, then lets do it!!!  Clean, cheap energy in our
own backyard (literally).
But if it's not... do we really want to trust our air, water and land to someone with a track record
of BP? or Exxon Valdez?

Perfect the process so it doesn't pollute... STRONGLY regulate the drillers and processors of the
waste to ensure the safest process possible...
Then Drill Baby Drill!

True, back before hysterical little girls got to child proof American life.

I can see ho0lding people accountable for their actions.

I can't see punishing everyone for the actions of a few.

I trust the oil companies much more than I trust the politicians who oppose fracking and the environmental special interests groups funded by wealthy left-wingers.

There is plenty of evidence that frackin in it's current states is risky and could have long term implications. Guess what the gas isn't going anywhere, why not wait, and in 20 years when the industry really does have this down to a science, then frack? Let's use some common sense here, let the redneck morons ruin their land with the trial and error, getting pennies on the dollar, then we cash in once it's better By the way, we will need even more energy in 20 years, and if I were a betting man, our gas will be worth more proportionally then, than it is now.

Patience!!!!

Patience for more expensive energy?  Limiting the supply of energy on the world market in order to keep prices higher?  Who benefits from that?

There are all kinds of lower energy appliances and heating and cooling unit technology invented.

They won't release them until they extract as much as they can from the last patented inventions.

20 years from now we should need a great deal less energy to live normally.

Patents hold back the release of new technology for decades.

This allows new technology to price gouge the public for a decade before making the technology
available to everyone.

Several companies have developed solar paint that can be applied to almost any structure.

It produces only ten percent per square foot as normal photovoltaic cells, but costs are going to
be a hundred times less.

Patents and patent battles are slowing the release and production of these inventions.

Saudi Prince: Fracking Is Threat To Kingdom

As the fracking revolution eases demand for the kingdom's oil and gas, a billionaire prince warns his nation to find new income.
9:49am UK, Monday 29 July 2013

A billionaire prince has warned Saudi Arabia of the fracking threat

A Saudi prince has warned that his oil-reliant nation is under threat because of fracking technology being developed elsewhere around the world.

Billionaire Prince Alwaleed bin Talal said the Gulf Arab kingdom needed to reduce its reliance on crude oil and diversify its revenues.

His warning comes as rising shale energy supplies in the United States cut global demand for Saudi oil.

In an open letter to his country's oil minister Ali al Naimi and other government heads, published on Sunday via his Twitter account, Prince Alwaleed said demand for oil from Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (Opec) member states was "in continuous decline".

State-owned Saudi Aramco was hit by a huge cyberattack last year
He said Saudi Arabia's heavy dependence on oil was "a truth that has really become a source of worry for many".

He added that the world's biggest crude oil exporter should implement "swift measures" to diversify its economy.

Prince Alwaleed, owner of international investment firm Kingdom Holding, is unusually outspoken for a top Saudi businessman.

But his warning reflects growing concern in private among many Saudis about the long-term impact of shale technology.

It is allowing the US and Canada to tap unconventional oil deposits which they could not reach just a few years ago.

Small towns, like Carroll County in Ohio, have been boosted by fracking
Chancellor George Osborne has also announced support for fracking in Britain and in offshore waters, to ease a reliance on foreign oil and gas.

Some analysts think this may push demand for Saudi oil, as well as global oil prices, down sharply over the next decade.

Over the past couple of years the Saudi government has taken some initial steps to develop the economy beyond oil.

It has sought to liberalise the aviation sector and provided finance to small, entrepreneurial firms in the services and technology sectors.

Cuadrilla has been exploring for gas in Britain, despite public protests
Mr Naimi said publicly in May that he was not concerned about rising US shale oil supplies.

Prince Alwaleed told Mr Naimi in his open letter, which was dated May 13 this year, that he disagreed with him.

The prince said: "Our country is facing a threat with the continuation of its near-complete reliance on oil, especially as 92% of the budget for this year depends on oil.

"It is necessary to diversify sources of revenue, establish a clear vision for that and start implementing it immediately."

The prince said Saudi Arabia should move ahead with plans for nuclear and solar energy production to cut local consumption of oil.

The shale oil threat means Saudi Arabia will not be able to raise its production capacity to 15 million barrels of oil per day (mbpd), Prince Alwaleed argued.

The Fracking debate  isn't just about the natural gas.  It is also about the LIBERTY for a property owner to actually use their property as they choose and to make a living off it.  The left-wing nuts who live in their suburban McMansions and posh big city apartments consuming loads of electricity and fossil fuels couldn't really give a damn about the environment or the depletion of natural resources.  It is all about left-wing nuts wanting to live the good life and tell EVERYONE ELSE to sacrifice and what they can or can't do with their private property.

Family farms are going belly up -- while the Kennedy family tells Governor Cuomo when and if he can approve fracking.  Meanwhile, the Kennedy's are living it up on the fortune Grandpa Joe stole and on all the government jobs their family gets handed to them.

Property rights end at the edge of your property.

Fracking poses a danger to the community.

Your version of liberty is more commonly known as seeking to use community resources for personal gain.

What are community resources?  If you are fracking for energy resources on your personal property, you are selling it to members of your community for them to use - how does that not help the community?  In the marketplace, that's a win-win.  It is when the "community"(in the form of governments) take claim to resources and assign who does and who doesn't get those resources, and those decision are almost always made for political reasons.  That is when you are ruled.

It hasn't been proven that fracking poses a danger to the community.  There are many studies which say that it is safe.

Frankly, I am surprised that you call yourself a Libertarian considering your willingness to let a few wealthy families like the Kennedys, the Gores and the Saudi Royal Family influence our government to stomp on our private property rights.  But then again, I know that some of the posters on this site are charlatans and posing.
