Climate Change Deniers ‘Ignorant, Out Of Touch, Or Crazy’

FOX NEWS
http://radio.foxnews.com/2013/.....t-of-touch-or-crazy/

REAL science is not based on polling and surveys but employing the scientific method which includes collecting data, performing experiments and, otherwise, employing non-subjective techniques.

Ironically, I was just watching a documentary on tv about the Krakatoa volcano in Indonesia, and how its two biggest mega-eruptions one about 530 A.D.  and the other in 1883 A.D. changed the global climate for year ..decades ... and, interestingly, made the world cooler by several degrees.

That is something that the "global warming" folks try to ignore -- the fact that from 1883 until well into the 20th century, global temperatures were actually COOLER than "normal" due to Krakatoa.  So how much of the "warming trend", if any, is due to the earth returning to "normal" and how much is due to other factors -- including solar activity.  And if Krakotoa, which is rising again and building up, should decide to erupt, the whole globe would cool off enough degrees to erase any perceived warming.  This would create its own set of problems to be dealt with.

Ignorant, out of touch left wings nut BoxofCrap and the Obama-Gore-Pelosi-Tonko types in politics don't want to actually have a rational, REAL science based discussion of the issue.  You either have to agree with their diagnosis and their prescription or they just marginalize and ignore you (at best) or demonize and, eventually I dare say, will attempt to criminalize any one who isn't a brainwashed sycophant.

Climate change means warmer winters in northern latitudes and a shorter ski season. By 2039, more
than half of the Northeast's ski resorts will not be able to maintain a 100-day season, according to
the New York Times.

Ski areas will be less likely to receive regular snowfall, and warmer daily low temperatures mean fewer
opportunities for snowmaking.

Climate change may dramatically shrink the area suitable for coffee cultivation by the end of the century
and cause the extinction of Arabica coffee plants in the wild. Starbucks has already declared that
"Addressing climate change is a priority."

I've also heard the exact opposite, that for the next 50 years, winters will be harsher because of increased precipitation.....caused by slower weather systems because of the reduction of the ocean currents.

Of course, regardless of if the weather is harsh or mild, unless it's absolutely statistically normal, climate change will be blamed.

Climate Change will be just that.  Some places will be colder, others warmer, some dryer some wetter.
Any change in one part of the system will impact the rest of the system.

For these people, Climate Change isn't a political issue... it's watching their island disappear.

Climate change isn't a political issue for me either, it's a money and power issue. You can't read one article from the UN about climate change without money being talked about... transfer from rich countries to developing ones....and that's this all about....along with people like Al Gore making tons of profit from it. Anyone that is honest will tell you we can't stop it, in fact, we probably won't be able to slow down much, if at all. You would need world cooperation for that to happen, but you'll never get it.
And as for science and research, if you don't think that they are at least somewhat driven by research dollars, than again, you're not being realistic... good news will not get you the dollars, but bad news will.. if you are on the fence based on results, which way are you more likely to turn?

From what I have seen, the scientific predictions for the last 15 years or so have been mostly wrong.... some predictions like rate of melting sea ice were too low, and some like, temperature rise and sea level rise predictions were too high...

I also see hypocrisy from the politicians that say we MUST get off fossil fuels... they are same ones that say we must rebuild and not change the emphasis on coastal development after Superstorm Sandy... when out the other side of their mouths, they are saying these storms will get stronger...again, it all comes down to power and money...how to get it and how to keep it.

BoxofCrap is sounding like an uninformed chicken little again.  The oceans would have to rise some 250 feet above sea level to flood the Mohawk Valley by Schenectady -- 300 feet to flood it by Amsterdam.   We would have to bring in water from another planet to do that.

~Since the last ice age, sea levels have risen 140 m (460 feet)

~Each Degree C of Warming May Raise Seas 2 Meters (6 1/2 feet)
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-07-15/each-degree-celsius-of-warming-may-raise-seas-2-meters.html

~ Snow-covered ice reflects more than 80% of the sun’s heat, the darker ocean absorbs up
to 95% of solar radiation. Once sea ice begins to melt, the process becomes
self-reinforcing. More ocean surface is revealed, absorbing solar heat, raising temperatures
and making it unlikelier that ice will re-form next winter.
