SILENCERS ARE NEEDED FOR THESE CYCLES.
First off, it's not AmJam.. it hasn't been for a long time... It's the Harley Rendezvous...different event, different organizers. No, it's not a girl scout convention, but MOST of the police activity is for traffic infractions..not gang wars.. most of the trips to the ER, and there aren't that many, are for intoxication, not for wrecks...
There's lots of things that need silencers..bikes, cars, stereos with bass so extreme it rattles the windows in your house..but it's always the bikes that get put up on display...

Yeah, I have as a matter of fact.. and a good friend of mine has been doing security there for years. Vast majority are there for a good time...don't mess with them and you won't get messed with... i can tell you I'd feel my kids would be safer at this event than at SPAC concert, or most outside events around here Contrary to popular belief, this type of crowd are some of the most accepting people I know....my wife was stunned when she experienced it herself.
People come up with reasons to hate something they don't have an interest in or don't understand. Sirens for lots of reasons? ... you must be privy to the police reports...if so, please share..if not, you're just talking sh!t, as I suspected.

Hey...you don't even know me....and you judge what I say....been to many of these gatherings.....many times.....and when I went it was much different than it is now...
more respect and especially the event itself.....we all know...or at least we think we know.....what is the dark side of these gatherings....
don't want a confrontation.....but I am entitled to this.......when my muffler is too loud......neighbors complain, and the cops give me a ticket.....the noise level of these bikes have grown even more louder than
really necessary.....the louder ...the tougher.....and you're right when you say.....don't mess with them.....they won't mess with you....same with the noise of the bikes....someone has their backs...
and great that your wife appreciates the Rendezvous.....in my younger days...I did too.....
who cares about their mufflers....the dogs in our neighborhood are worse...and someone keeps breeding the damn things like they live in the country.....

motorcycles all over town are bad - loud and dont seem to have to follow any sort of muffler guidlines - quite them down and they can do whatever they want where ever they want
The noise from the bikers wasn't too bad. It is certainly not as bad the cars driving around with loud radios playing hip hop or rap music at all hours of the day and night.
There were a number of bikers patronizing the businesses near the intersection of Heldeberg and Curry on both Saturday and Sunday, and they were actually very pleasant.
