I'm seeing some movement in houses, just not the ones in the program.
Is that $299,000 one still on the market? A friend of mine was looking at a comparable house in Niskayuna a few days ago. I think it was this one:
http://www.ziprealty.com/property/1924-VILLAGE-RD-NISKAYUNA-NY-12309/49312962/detailNote the lower price, better schools, I don't see taxes listed but they will be lower. Houses in Schenectady are supposed to cost LESS, not way more.
Ah, the house about which you write on Village Rd, with a full market value listed as $247,000, the taxes with just basic STAR are $6,477 per year.
Compare that to the house at 10 Front St for sale in the city, was on the open house list, the city lists the full market value as $231,481, but the taxes on it with just basic STAR are $12,630. This house had a full market value of $250,000 just two years ago. In return for double the taxes, there is no off street parking, so what does the person on Front St do in the winter?
Again, the house on Front St, the owner grieved assessment, should have an answer from the board of assessment next week. Of course, "denied, insufficient data." Let's see what happens when they sue the city an win. Must remember that when the tentative roll comes out in 2014.
Now in view of the falling home values and sky high taxes which keep increasing, what does that voice say about the city?
Mayor McCarthy and his team are doing a great job in the city. Keep up the good work.
... step by step Schenectady ... continues its Renaissance.
Schenectady is doing well and the ... Life is good.
Gee, if life is good in Schebnecady, why does he refuse to even rent IN the city?????
TOTALLY SILENT. Cowards find it easier to be silent rather than admit they have no evidence to support what they say and rather than admit they are wrong.
