When this 1st happened I questioned if this was a FBI screw up for the exact same reason as this case, the FBI has funded and armed many people only to bust them later on. I find it weird they actually were holding a bomb exercise at that event, they had bomb sniffing dogs and everything, it later came out that they were training for the exact same scenario, a couple men with backpacks detonating explosive at the event. They say it was a coincidence but...
You folks are missing the bigger screw up by Federal and state law enforcement. The Boston Marathon is an important Internationally followed event and as such a prime target for a terrorist attack. The law enforcement people admit that they did a bomb sniffing sweep of the finish line 2 HOURS before the expected first finishers crossing that line. Common sense would suggest that they should have done a sweep minutes before the expected first finishers not 2 hours before. If it had been a presidential visit to that area, they would have been sweeping right up to the motorcades arrival -- not doing it a few hours before and then sitting back to relax. |
