So now Ellis wants to change the garage plans from 3 floors to 5. And they want a 7 ft setback instead of 58 ft. Zoning Board meeting on June 5. Only those across from the garage location were notified of this meeting. I wonder if the homeowners will get a tax reduction because of drastically lower property values. Just image, instead of looking at stars in the backyard you get parking lights. And for those of you lucky enough to not live near a parking lot or garage; those little horn beeps every time someone gets in or out of a car. Wish I had know all this before I bought my 'dream house'. I hear they need the extra 2 floors because they planned on using Oneida space and that fell through.
They have been using Oneida's parking lot for months now

A never ending construction zone. The three year new ER that should have been located at St Claire's now another parking monster because no one uses the satellite lot. Ellis has grown too big for it's residential location. The homeowners on Rosa and Belmont are screwed. Make sure you pay your taxes and don't ask for any relief from the clueless ZBA. Rotsa Ruck getting your assessments lowered from the Mayor McCheese working together crew.
Can't use Oneida apparently anymore, it will be re-opened as a school.
And then Elmer might be torn down. Really, that addition on Elmer is how many years YOUNG
Can they ever do anything right in Schenectady, i.e., something to actually increase the tax base?
Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent. Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

Didn't hear that, will it be a public school again or private?

It was in the new, well the gazette. Elmer is structurally not good. Probably won't happen for a year or so. Sounds like they are talking about redoing the schools again like K to 8 vs K to 6, but of course half the people want it one way, half the other way.
And many want neighborhood schools back, but of course, "achieving racial equality," they can't do that when you have neighborhoods with high minority populations. They have to bus kids all over the city now. Can you imagine if the school districts in the whole county were consolidated into one? DV cheers for that but he REFUSES to address the FACT that such action WILL NECESSITATE that equal racial crap in all the schools which will NECESSITATE a DRASTIC INCREASE in taxes due to a DRASTIC INCREASE

Not too mention, think of winter when, say Duanesburg closes because of snow, but there is barely two inches on the ground in Schenectady city, but the whole county will shut down the schools, they don't close one school in the city and not others as it is now (unless there is a watermain break or something at the school.
I mean think of today WHY is the WHOLE Schenectady school district closed? Because in the areas not hit hard, the can't keep only some schools open, because kids are bused all over the place
Ridiculous

There is a proposal to reopen it as a public elementary school.

K through 8 is a bad idea, I went to that school when I was younger and I couldn't even imagine letting 1st graders being around some of the older students, I know drugs were all over that school when I attended and I'm sure it wouldn't be any different now.

I don't know if they are suggesting K-8 in one building. Apparently, they need to close Elmer Avenue School because it is in bad shape. At least that is what was reported.

I watch the little ones walking to Zoller with their parents and then I watch the big ones making out on their way to school. TOO much diversity for my tastes.
K-8 is not good because you have children who have reached puberty at the same location as little ones. They never tire of the gimmicks, do they? So Elmer is in bad shape now? That was the rumor that was floated about Oneida when they were planning on closing it. I happened to know it wasn't true, but a surprising number of people believed it, and now, magically, it is in decent shape again. I have a hard time believing now that Elmer Avenue School is actually deficient as these people tell outright lies to justify their game of musical chairs or whatever you want to call it where they keep shuffling kids around. I feel bad for annie as I know people who've had their quality of life destroyed by that ever encroaching hospital. If they needed more room why not utilize that hospital that isn't quite a hospital over at St. Clare's? The city government will never side with the city, i.e. the residents, over some other entity because they all hate Schenectady and the only ones that live here are the ones that are forced to in order to get their piece of the pie.
