Ms. Pelosi's remarks are revealing because they underscore that Democratic agitation to restrict political speech may have driven this IRS dragnet. In a September 2010 letter to then-IRS Commissioner Doug Shulman, Montana Senator Max Baucus encouraged the IRS to investigate the use of nonprofit status by conservative groups. Noting media reports on conservative groups like Crossroads GPS, American Action Network and Americans for Job Security, Mr. Baucus wrote that there are "serious questions about whether such organizations are operating in compliance with the Internal Revenue Code."

In March 2012, New York Senator Chuck Schumer and six other Democrats signed a letter demanding that the IRS put a "cap" on spending by nonprofits or face legislation. In the meantime, they wrote, the groups should be forced to "show their math" to prove that they deserve the tax-exempt status they are applying for. "The IRS should already possess the authority to issue immediate guidance on this matter," the Senators wrote.

Before he was fired Wednesday, Mr. Miller, the acting IRS commissioner identified two "rogue" Cincinnati workers as the puppeteers behind the overly "aggressive" enforcement. But don't be surprised if they thought they were merely following the direction of Senate Democrats.     http://online.wsj.com/article/.....p;

I think Buck's home video of himself getting hit in the head over and over... well... obviously brain damage!

On the topic:
Republicans...
YES, R E P U B L I C A N S ordered the IRS investigation
of the F'n TeaBaggers!

(I know, I know... Bucky, Cic, Henry and the wanna bes will not sleep well tonight, but it's true.)

Republicans asked the IRS to look at the tax-exempt status of Tea Party groups.

I don't give a fu(k what the party affiliation of the tyrant is.  This government is illegitimate.  It's a banana fu(king republic.  It is no longer a representative republic.  No longer do the representatives reflect the will of the people, the people must reflect the will of their representatives.  If you do not conform to your corrupt illegitimate leaders, you will be CRUSHED!

The political leadership in this country is illegitimate, the outcome was rigged, they were elected in two elections that we now know free speech was suppressed.

Federal government demanded a list of everyone a Tennessee organization had ever trained, or planned to train

Linchpins of Liberty mentors high school and college students and teaches them conservative political philosophy, but is not tea-party-linked

'Can you imagine my responsibility to parents if I disclosed the names of their children to the IRS?' asked the group's founder

IRS Inspector General report listed seven questions the agency should never have asked, but this wasn't one of them

When the "GOVT" votes against the will of 90% of the people on a Background Check Bill... then
we agree... it is no longer a representative republic.

Yup, you could be correct.  Lets not forget, that bill died in the Senate, where Democrats had a majority.

Oh yeah, obamacare was opposed by a majority too, more proof of the illegitimacy.

I'm glad we can agree on the illegitimacy of the federal government.

GOP Hypocrites Whine About The IRS While Demanding An Audit of AARP

Quoted Text
Republicans are playing up another phony scandal out of sheer spite and part of their
four-year campaign to discredit the President, but as is always the case with Republicans,
they are projecting on the President what they themselves are guilty of. Corporate media is
remiss to remind Americans that Republicans targeted the voter registration organization ACORN
for eradication after racist angst, fabricated evidence, and phony allegations drove them to
destroy what they perceived as an outfit that served African Americans who supported the
President in the 2008 general election.  Conservatives deemed their attack was warranted and
legitimate, and bristled at suggestions their effort was racially or politically motivated.

Last week, a day before the IRS apologized for scrutinizing conservatives’ applications for
“social welfare” tax exemption, House Republicans sent a letter to the IRS Commissioner
demanding an audit of the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) claiming the
organization does not qualify for tax-exempt status and deserves extra scrutiny.  Republicans
on the House Ways and Means Committee want the evil IRS to investigate AARP’s finances,
but AARP asserts all of its revenue is put to use supporting it mission of assisting senior citizens.

The AARP has become nothing but an insurance company who stopped looking out for the retired community a long time ago. They pushed for Obama-care because they sell health insurance even though it hurt those on Medicare and SS.

They pushed for Obama Care because many of their AARP members were uninsured or uninsurable.

Now the Obama-care plan will not only be for the uninsured and the uninsurable but now it's going to be unaffordable too.
