Monsanto Protection Act: Blunt has sold out Missourians

In the past weeks, I have been an online activist and even called the White House to try to keep a grave injustice from occurring.

Unfortunately, even after hundreds of thousands of emails and calls to the White House to implore, ask, even beg the president to veto H.R. 933, he signed it into law.

This emergency spending bill had a rider (Sec. 735) stuck in at the last minute that was known as the Monsanto Protection Act that gives Monsanto more power, even more than the USDA and the courts.

Today, I had a rude awakening. It has been reported that Missouri’s Roy Blunt was the person who slipped in this heinous rider at the last minute. He slipped it in as “anonymous,” but the word is out. He sold us out.

Across the country, millions have been fighting GMOs (genetically modified organisms). I have been very active in this fight. To find out that someone from my state, who is supposed to be representing me, my family, my friends and the well-being of all Missourians has sold all of us out is infuriating at the least and threatens our very lives at the worst. I’ve proudly lived in Missouri all of my life, but today, I’m not proud of being a Missourian.

I encourage you to call Blunt’s office, email him, or go to his Facebook page to let him know that just because Monsanto contributed heavily to his campaign, he doesn’t have the right to jeopardize the lives of his constituents, nor those of the entire country.
