I am the city worker that was fired. I was off duty and I was charged with an open container, which was an empty beer can in the back seat of my car. My car was searched I as arrested and booked for an offense that is the equivalent of a parking violation. I was not drunk or drinking. I am a father of two and have held the same position for nearly 13 years. Interesting side note is I have an ongoing complaint for an incident with a schdy police officers in which I was threatened. I firmly believe this incident was a result of my complaint. One of the officers that physically threatened me was arrested a month later for brandishing his weapon off duty during a road rage incident.  All that aside my license is valid and I was fired targeted or not for the equivalent of a parking ticket I received outside of work... this should concern any public employee under McCarthy who was proud of his swift discipline which was my termination without an explanation.

INTERESTING VERY VERY INTERESTING......I know the man who had the gun brandished in his face....

The woman known as a hooker to police was a woman who walked up from behind my vehicle and entered in the passenger side door uninvited. She asked me to give her a ride which I denied and ordered her out of my car. Within 10seconds cops pulled up. This is not unheard of in fact it has happened to numerous of our public eloyess who work in schdy. The police were clearly looking for anything or any reason to charge me with something. Being I did not solicit the woman, our conversation consisted of me demanding the woman to get out of my vehicle. If I was up to something rest assured I wild have been charged. Hence the empty beer can that was an open container charge.

First.....if I had filed a complaint with 'any' police dept....I would have been more careful as to what I was doing and with who. But that's just me....heard too many horror stories.

Second....and to Henry's point....watch what you say here...check with an attorney first.

Third....as to what you or anyone else is doing out at 12:39 a.m. is NOBODY'S business!!!

Fourth....if what you say is all true....it perhaps could have been a set up which included the so called 'prostitute'. Intrapment....yes....no? Cops are famous for using the 'questionable' to make their case.

jmho

Good advice above, I wouldn't put it past the cops in Schenectady to set you up, and they don't come more crooked then our mayor. You need to stop posting and start suing, for wrongful termination and slander. I think the slander lawsuit should be a slam dunk, there was no reason to mention the prostitute if they were not going to charge you, other than to defame your character.

Agree...Take note of how a corrupt government can destroy a person's life.  They not only destroyed his livlihood, but also his reputation.  That city government is filled with scumbags.

I do want to be clear though - while I am stating the scenario sounds fishy...

I do not subscribe to the PD being wholly corrupt or inept.

The one-side posted here on this page just makes something sound fishy.  But it is indeed only one side of the story, and we should be fair to all parties.

Separately - from an open container law perspective.  How does one return beer cans / bottles if what was written is true and it really was empty?

It probably was

Agree with others be very careful what you say on here  And  get a good lawyer its going to cost some bucks.

I too have no problem with prostitutes, whoever picks them up runs the risk of disease etc, but that's their business.

As for the prostitutes some are so young : (  And you know they are getting paid with some heavy duty drugs cause they are wasting
away.

I pay property taxes - not that it is any of your business.  And you ARE irrelevant to me and closer to pond sucking scum than a troll.

You pay property taxes?????      You do know that we all know you don't pay property taxes.  You have proven it many times by your inability to intelligently discuss property taxes, the tax base, values, etc.

If you pay property taxes, then you can respond here with a post that explains property taxes, exemptions, the deductibility of the tax bill, LOL, RAR, market value, assessment value, etc.   Explain what all these terms are.

Since you are not employed you do not pay income or SS taxes.    When your income is from the public dole, if you use the taxpayers' money to give a stipend to your two mommies, that does NOT qualify you to say you pay property taxes.  But then, many of us might wonder if you are even on the dole, because EACH AND EVERY NORMAL adult man does NOT live with two mommies, not even with one mommy; although he may have to live with mama when welfare has told him he has reached is maximum years living on the dole.   So, no job, maxed out on welfare, not looking for a job, if you didn't have these two generous mommies, you'd be homeless.

Heck, how come you are no longer licensed for insurance?

speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

Because someone is talking to a 'maybe' prostitute is not reason enough to even 'suggest' someone was soliciting one. That should have 'never' hit the gazetto!!! The beer can was 'empty'....so it should have also 'never' hit the gazetto!!!

What does the gazetto do....just throw sh!t out there without investigating first? They apparently got this so called 'news story' from the cops....did the gazetto EVER think of getting the 'victim's' side of the story??

PATHETIC!!!!

If talking to a prostitute is grounds to be arrested than talking to any politician (they are all prostitutes - selling their votes for contributions and favors) would be grounds to be arrested.  The only difference between a politician and a prostitute, at least with the latter you have a chance for a "happy ending."

Once my hubby was going to work a few years back and stopped at the traffic light at Hulett and Albany St, Two woman opened the door and jumped right into the truck. Hubby told them to get out (well says he did lol)

As for the Gazette same with the story about the two men missing that went fishing, the father and son, they supposedly quoted the
sherriff as saying the men may have run off.

you don't return them silly...you leave them on the side of the road for 'the poor'...it's their livelihood...although I suppose
the government could collect money from the ticket for littering....hhhmm?

Very true. The alleged hooker was probably an undercover sting partner anyway.
