Yes, the story in Gawker looked fake to me also, but the fact remains that someone who doesn't live here saw the story and told me about it, a story with "Schenectady" and "toilets" in it.

I'm surprised that the TU would stoop so low as to write about it.
Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent. Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.
I'm surprised as well, I got the story direct from Gawker. Actually, the networks cover gossip stories under the guise of "this is what everyone's talkingabout, so it's news. Like Tiger Woods' marital problems. Still, when it's your rival paper you should use more tact.
Gawker: Toilet troubles at Gazette after layoffs By Kristen V. Brown Published 12:23 pm, Saturday, May 4, 2013
SCHENECTADY – After a slew of layoffs at The Daily Gazette, employees of the paper have allegedly vandalized toilets and other company property, according to an internal memo posted on Gawker.com.
On Thursday, a source told the Times Union that the paper has laid off 10 employees, including five newsroom staffers.
An internal email memo sent to Gazette staff that same day attributed thousands of dollars of damaged plumbing and "other acts of vandalism" to "our own Gazette employee(s)," according to the email posted on Gawker.
In response to the vandalism, the email outlined a series of strict new rules to keep the wreckage in check.
"Employees are not to leave their designated work areas before, during or after their shifts," it read, continuing, "If you need to leave your work area as part of your duties, check with your supervisor, who will escort you or will make other provisions. Failure to comply with the above rules will be considered cause for disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment."
Thursday's cuts continued a trend of downsizing in recent years at the family-owned newspaper.
The paper's online employee directory listed 106 workers, including those who were reported as targeted for layoff. As recently as 2008, after several rounds of staff cuts had already taken place, the paper had 151 full-time and 85 part-time workers.

Oh my! He's smiling after reading that! He actually believes it! What an IGNORAMUS! No wonder he has no job and can't get enough votes to win an election
