I think it's a better thing for young people to move into an area, buy a home they can afford from seniors who don't want it any more, maintain said home and pay e reasonable amount of taxes (reasonable as in just enough to pay for services we receive), and enhance the quality of life for all concerned. News flash: many people will live in an area and pay taxes even without a job at that location, if they can have a nice house, clean streets, efficient delivery of services, etc. A remodeled downtown doesn't provide any of those things, and the resulting increase in taxes to pay for it exacerbates the problem and deters the young people from settling here. We can see this happening, but you have people who are hoping to profit from the scam trying to pull the wool over our eyes. Yes, I've said it before, but it sometimes takes a lot of repetition before it sinks in. In fact, teachers used to teach this way back in the day when kids used to graduate knowing how to read at an adult level. |
