My condolences to Niskayuna.

Why is that, what is wrong with supplying more jobs to the area and bringing lower prices to the people.

More jobs with no benefits... and the cheapest crap possible.
I'm not surprised that you're a fan of WalMart.

Nobody forces anyone to work there, they know the deal when signing on so they get no sympathy from me, if they don't like it they can move on to bigger and better things. As far as their products go they carry name brand items and have quality products for the price, it's definitely not top of the line but worth what you pay. You seem to want Mercedes luxury at a Honda price, ever hear the saying you get what you pay for?

Henry....in all due respect....walmart is a magnet for SCUM!!! And if ya don't think so, just drive up and down altamont ave in ROTTENdam.
a senior citizen told us that a couple of years ago, the rpd went to the senior center and told them NOT to go to walmart at night!
cops are there all the time!!! Just walk thru it sometime!

don't git me wrong...walmart does have it's place....SOMEPLACE!

as far as jobs go.....walmart kills businesses. so if you think that walmart (who pays squat with  no benefits) is better than price chopper, shop rite, hannaford (who pay far better and offer benefits) is better....than ENJOY!!!

Maybe not in this area, but there are plenty of places where Walmart forced every other store in town out of business, making them the only employer for miles.
Think of when Builders Square in Colonie opened. I can name half a dozen hardware stores that went belly up within a year.

Walmat pays their employees crap, which leaves me holding the bag to pay for their food stamps, and health care.

Gotta agree with Henry on this one. Competition brings lower prices and hey a job is  a job, with so many unemployed any new retail store that will employ more than a few is good.

Walmart screams of CORPORATE welfare!!! they pay their employees the bare minimum so the government can pay for their benefits and 'added' income credit on their income tax that WE pay for!!

Walmart has left ghost towns all over the country. do your homework and research it!!

As far as lower prices......NO ONE CAN COMPETE!! Walmart 'dictates' to it's suppliers the price walmart will pay them if they want the privilege of selling their goods in the store. They dictated to levi's....'walmart will supply the materials...you just make the product'.

walmart is a globalist all of their own!

WALMART IS THE ANTI-CHRIST!!!

Then that means they were over priced and couldn't compete, lower prices helps out everyone especially the lower class. What you guys are saying is the free market shouldn't be allowed to work and people should be forced to pay higher prices   If you guys wish to pay higher prices for the same product go for it but don't try to eliminate competition for those who need the lowest price possible to survive.
