Good one. We also need more nit wit candidates in Proctor's employee. Proctor's now has more candidates in City/County offices than the REPS.
The funniest is the realtor who loves showing property in Schenectady. She admits that the horrible taxes/schools are a problem. It's the confiscatory taxes stupid. Anyone still voting for local DEMS needs their head examined.
And any realtor who believes they can make a living selling Schenectady homes better have a back-up plan!!!
The minorities are in the majority. Hmm. What is wrong with this statement. And does anyone else think the fact that the Superintendent thinks it matters what 'kind' you are just could be a problem?
There is a legal phrase, res ipsa loquitur, which applies here, the mere fact that the Mayor is out trying his hand at real estate speaks volumes.
Watch the house that sold for $88,000 get the taxes reduced merely because of the lower sale price.
On April 16, the city of Schenectady sponsored a very well-organized meeting with area Realtors, promoting home ownership in the city. The meeting was informative and well done. The next day, your reporter, Kathleen Moore, wrote an extremely biased and negative article about the event [“Area real estate agents not sold on city’s pitch”]. Ms. Moore interviewed me. Most of our conversation was left on the cutting room floor and the rest was misused, misdirected and misinformed. I always thought good journalism was supposed to be fair and balanced. No evidence of that here. I’m very disappointed in Ms. Moore. I think she owes an apology to the city of Schenectady.
PAULA GAIES Cohoes The writer is an associate broker of the Weichert Realtors Northeast Group.
That's quite a letter coming from someone who lives in Cohoes, whose house as appreciated in value since she bought it, one whose house is valued at almost $200,000 and her taxes are roughly half of what a house of that value would be in Schenectady
But it sounds like she was telling the truth at this realtor day event, and perhaps Ms D'allesandro spoke to the head of the realtor group that Ms Gaies works for perhaps requiring her to write such a letter as a condition for continued employment? I wouldn't put it past a high paid political appointee in the state's real property office, or the dems in the city to do something like that.
Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent. Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.
I live in Schenectady, I don't think any apology is necessary. Free cookies don't make one an expert on someone else's hometown, nor does a bus tour. Maybe reporters are getting fed up with having to do puff pieces about how well idiotic programs are doing. Mayors don't sell real estate.
