Each and every homeowner who cares about the city and their home value ought better to attend the council meeting on Monday 4/8.

It is of the utmost importance.

Most know that the board of assessment regularly, no matter how much proof is presented, simply says "denied, insufficient data."

There is a proposal on the appointment of yet another dem puppet to the board.   Take a wild guess who it is!!!!!!!!!!

Home hoopla produces flat sales
Numbers fail to support claims of success for "Key to the City" effort

By Lauren Stanforth
Updated 6:38 am, Wednesday, February 27, 2013

SCHENECTADY — Despite the claim that Mayor Gary McCarthy's homeownership campaign has been characterized as experiencing "enormous progress," sales were flat in Schenectady since the "Key to the City" program started in September 2011.

…..

On Sunday, Mary D'Alessandro-Gilmore of Prudential Manor Home Realtors said at the latest Key to the City news conference that "as of Jan. 1, 2013 we have a total of 54 homes in contract" — a number that was also promoted during the Monday City Council meeting. But completed sales, according to the January report issued by the Greater Capital Association of Realtors, were for 17 homes.

The mayor's recommendation to the Board of Assessment is none other than his H.O.M.E.S. mouthpiece

Conflict would you say?    So glad I don't live in the city.

Here's the problem, MC. No matter how appalling the actions of these people, the ignorami of this city voted to keep this bunch in power, and other than rail against them every chance I get to anyone who will listen to reason, I don't know what I can do. If I hear, "downtown looks beautiful!" one more time from some moron who lives as far away as possible, I am going to need surgery from biting my tongue.
Aside from the stupid program not working, even if it did work it would just be doing on a smaller scale what was done countrywide to cause a foreclosure meltdown. I don't even think the completed sales were from the program.
How much do you want to bet the guy who bought that house on Ardsley gets HIS assessment lowered?

A house that sold for $230,000 was assessed $100,000 lower than the purchase price?

Somebody please ask McStupid how this can be.

But when you buy one for 80 thousand they will assess you at $170

Her first duty should be to reassess her home to the 2003 purchase price.

The stockade was the invasion of America.

The stockade was needed because they came and deemed the current residents
to be uncivilized savages.

The savages weren't allowed to vote on who was to become their masters.

Really? Walk to the market from her home in the stockade?

Is there an invisible market downtown that I missed?
