The city is so poorly managed, this doesn't even shock me any more, I'm desensitized.

It's not lack of revenue-it's the total inability to budget or say no to any half baked idea. Leeser is a total joke. Another stooge for Proctor's in the Karen Johnson mode. Here's the worst part. She is planning to
run for Mayor after McCheese. If a State Control Board hasn't taken other from these fiscal nit wits. Unless the REPS or Alliance get off the canvass she will win.

She is the alpha and the omega

Fact is the matter is that they could budget better and we are still going to implode due to the crushing debt of future pension and retirement health benefits.  That is a fact.  We have almost $200,000,000 in off balance sheet unfunded liabilities of these types and people are retiring every month.  Unti we stop the UNIONS teat sucking we are doomed.

Bankruptcy is the solution. Doomed is the only solution.  Let them keep spending and running up more debt.  No-no, actually encourage more spending and debt until the ultimate failure.  Let's not wait around for our death by a million paper cuts.

I agree entirely.  These patch jobs and duct taping are a waste.

Schenectady will join Stockton, Ca. soon enough because those in power are making the same mistakes that bankrupted Stockton.

Can they really be called mistakes at this stage, when we can see the expected results for ourselves? Mistakes are unforeseen and therefore excusable to some degree, but when you have an example like Stockton right in front of you and you don't stop what you are doing and try to cut your losses, it borders on criminality. Nobody can be that stupid. Magical thinking is for people who haven't reached adulthood, or something you do with your own money.

The answer to the question in the title is "yes." It will sink MUCH lower.
