A 70-year-old Schenectady man has died after being struck by a car while leaving a church service on the afternoon of Good Friday, police said.
Gary Amell was crossing Union Street in front of St. Kateri Tekakwitha Parish at about 1 p.m. when he was struck by a Ford Taurus leaving the church parking lot. Amell was crossing in the crosswalk when Maria Rubonis, 88, of Niskayuna, made a left turn out of the lot and hit Amell, witnesses told police. Interesting how said everyone is when it's an old white christian, where's all the Schenectady jokes that normally come with deaths in the city. Guess it's different when it's an old white christian doing the killing, then it's just gods will. This is tragic as is every loss of life, hopefully we can spread the respect to all humans at some point no matter their age race or creed. RIP Gary Amell
YES, leave it to a lib to cry racism over people sending a condolence. You nullify your own self from serious conversation more easily than anyone I know. And this death wasn't from societal degeneracy or crime, or intent. This is an old fashioned accident. When a drug dealer gets shot dead, or an armed intruder breaks into the wrong house and get some lead, I am never sad. I am amused. As a matter of fact when an evil individual goes out to harm someone and gets a tasty dish of karma and perhaps a painful death, I consider it a wonderful thing and it tickles me. When little children and old people are victimized it is sad no matter WHAT RACE they are.
Accidents and innocent victims make me mourn. You however, are much more concerned with the welfare of the scum of the Earth, and that is normal for a liberal.
