U.S. F-22 stealth jets join South Korea drills amid sabre-rattling
WASHINGTON, March 31 | Sun Mar 31, 2013 5:54pm EDT
(Reuters) - The United States sent F-22 stealth fighter jets to South Korea on Sunday to join military drills aimed at underscoring the U.S. commitment to defend Seoul in the face of an intensifying campaign of threats from North Korea.
The advanced, radar-evading F-22 Raptors were deployed to Osan Air Base, the main U.S. Air Force base in South Korea, from Japan to support ongoing bilateral exercises, the U.S. military command in South Korea said in a statement that urged North Korea to restrain itself.
"(North Korea) will achieve nothing by threats or provocations, which will only further isolate North Korea and undermine international efforts to ensure peace and stability in Northeast Asia," the statement said.
Sabre-rattling on the Korean peninsula drew a plea for peace from Pope Francis, who in his first Easter Sunday address called for a diplomatic solution to the crisis on the Korean peninsula.
"Peace in Asia, above all on the Korean peninsula: may disagreements be overcome and a renewed spirit of reconciliation grow," he said, speaking in Italian.

North Korea Releases New Photos That Reveal Its 'US Mainland Strike Plan' In The Background Joe Weisenthal | Mar. 29, 2013, 5:41 AM | 168,647 | 142
North Korea is making more noise.
Following the deployment of U.S. B-2s to South Korea, North Korean President Kim Jong-un has ordered his military to be on alert for a strike against the US.
As part of the warning, North Korea has published two new images in a local paper (via Reuters) and what people are noticing is the background, which appear to show a missile strike plan on the US.
In this first one, the map of the U.S. is most vivid. Here's the full picture.

Then if you zoom in above the general's head (as NKNews.org points out) you can see a map of the U.S. with lines coming into it (implying lines of attack). The text apparently reads "U.S. Mainland Strike Plan" (which is not subtle). The four cities that are targeted are Austin, San Diego, Honolulu, and Washington DC.

The second photo is a bit less juicy, although it does show Kim Jong-un using an iMac.

A key thing as NKNews.org points out is that the photos were released in a domestic workers paper, implying that the images are for internal consumption, rather than a real threat.

Should N.Korea decide to attack the south, there will be no way to take out their 6000+ artillery and MLRS that are set up in hardened bunkers before Seoul can be leveled.

Anonymous Hacks North Korean Twitter, Flickr Accounts
Stephanie Mlot By Stephanie Mlot April 4, 2013 11:24am EST
North Korea's official Twitter and Flickr accounts have been hacked, reportedly as part of "hacktivist" group Anonymous's efforts to disrupt the Communist country's Web presence.
The attackers targeted North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in a series of tweets and photos that portray him in a less-than-flattering light.
Five tweets from @uriminxok were sent between 10:45 and 11:20 p.m. Wednesday. Most included a simple message - "Hacked" - accompanied by links to various North Korean websites. One said "Tango Down" with a link to the country's Flickr page.
The group uploaded four images to North Korea's official Flickr photostream, including a fake "Wanted" poster, depicting Jong-un with pig ears and a snout, and text that said: "Threatening world peace with ICBMs and Nuclear weapons/Wasting money while his people starve to death/ Concentration Camps and the worst human rights violation in the world." The photo offers a bogus $1 million reward. Anonymous Kim Jong-un Wanted
Anonymous contended in a Wednesday Pastebin message that they have "a few guys on the ground" in North Korea, who "managed to bring the real internet into the country using a chain of long distance Wi-Fi repeaters with proprietary frequencies, so they're not jammed (yet)." The group said it also has access to North Korean landlines that connected to Kwangmyong, the country's national Intranet.
"To the citizens of North Korea we suggest to rise up and bring those mother******s of a oppressive government down!" Anonymous wrote. "We are holding your back and your hand, while you take the journey to freedom, democracy and peace. Do not fear us, we are not terrorist, we are the good guys from the internet."
The group also has some more low-brow aspirations with its hacks. "We gonna inject the kittens and porn into their network," the hackers wrote, "because North Korean citizens wanna see lulzy kittehs and hawt pr0n too."
The group also claimed to have hacked Uriminzokkiri.com, allegedly stealing more than 15,000 passwords from the news outlet. The North Korean website is currently offline.
Tensions in the Asian country remain high, as North Korea today threatened the U.S. by authorizing its military to conduct a nuclear strike, Bloomberg reported.
Is THIS the Real Reason Obama’s Confronting North Korea? Posted on April 6, 2013 by Admin WND – by Aaron Klein
JERUSALEM – Is the Obama administration’s military build up in the Pacific part of the president’s so-called pivot-toward-Asia strategy, a move that could demonstrate the biggest shift in world power since World War II?
Specifically, is Washington using the North Korean nuclear standoff as an excuse to shift massive military might to Asia just as China and other powers seek to create a new economic order that would rival the Western-dominated World Bank and International Monetary Fund?
It is difficult for most seasoned observers to explain why Obama is suddenly responding to North Korean aggression when the White House did little in 2008 when North Korea refused to allow United Nations inspectors into its nuclear plants.
The Obama administration also took little action when North Korea in 2009 carried out at least two nuclear tests, one of which is believed to have been the cause of a magnitude 4.7 seismic event.
The White House did not allow the U.S. military any significant response when in 2010 North Korea torpedoed a South Korean navy ship, killing 46 sailors. North Korea then shelled a South Korean island with little U.S. reaction.
Now, purportedly in response to aggressive action by North Korea’s new leader, the White House is sending to Singapore a new class of warship designed to fight in coastal waters. http://www.fromthetrenchesworl.....g-north-korea/40188/

Or is the president using North Korea to strengthen his position in the polls at home and maybe "create a legacy" ?????
Although - if he were trying to improve his image at home by creating a crisis -- you would think that he would actually spend some time giving a damn about the crisis instead of whoring for dollars .. I mean fundraising all across the country and spending the rest of his time shooting hoops. playing golf and consoling kids who lost the egg rolling contest.

Only a person that thinks that Schenectady is in a renaissance would make such a retarded statement. It's even dumber than bumble's WND conspiracy story.
