SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - NEWS10 has obtained the dash camera video recorded during the officer-involved shooting death of a 32-year-old Schenectady man in August 2011.
Three Schenectady police officers were cleared of charges in the shooting death of 32-year-old Luis Rivera, after a Schenectady County grand jury found they were justified in using deadly force. The video was finally released Friday by the City of Schenectady after repeated Freedom of Information Law requests were made by the media.
"In the beginning of a change, the Patriot is a scarce man, brave, hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, however, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a Patriot."
One cop grabs perp......loses him.....out of sight goes perp....3 cops shoot...supposedly the man showed a gun....like it was stated by an advocate .....how do you show or shoot a gun running forward and the cops are behind you...
video does not show the whole event.....and where are the witnesses.....
I am not taking sides.....but something seems not in balance......
There is only one gang committing acts of violence in the video.
I wonder if there is more footage or better footage, if you notice as the one cop car backs up you can see another cop car facing the street of the shooting, if this is the car that was originally there then it would have caught what we didn't see from this angle.

Would 3 cops unload their weapon in Eldorado Acres in a similar situation if the person running away reflected the same racial demographic of the neighborhood? You don't want any stray bullets flying into Shardon Ct or Buffardi's house.

And how is it that these videos are just now found? They forgot about them, and just now came across them again when they were cleaning the cellar? There was more than one car there at the time. Where are the rest of the videos?

I doubt there would be any difference, the cops probably wondered why the guy wasn't going down after 14 shots, come to find out 12 of those rounds missed their target

The video was always there but it was just released, the jurors got to see the video. Although I do wonder what other footage they have knowing other cars were at the scene at the time of the shooting. I'm taking a guess and assuming all cars have dash cams. Maybe visitor can answer some of the questions.

I thought the same thing. Also, I tend to think that the officers that came from across the street, must have had a car on Hulett St, most likely facing that direction,
