President George W. Bush stood by America's allies --- Israel, Poland, Great Briatin, etc.  The current occupant of the White House has gone out of his way to slap our allies in the face and kiss the back sides of those who wish to destroy Freedom and Democracy and the United States.

10 years ago, I unwaiveringly supported America's mission to remove Saddam Hussein and bring Democracy to Iraq. I believed that George W. Bush was a good and decent man who was doing a great job as president.  Absolutely nothing has caused me to change my opinion.

DVOR, this is a perfect example of why you are so clueless and stupid.
Facts mean nothing to you
Thi is best reason why you do not belong in any position that empowers you

what that means and the responsibility that goes with it.
The fact that the Town administration gave you the planning

Oh Jesus Christ, this again.

Everyone here, since the late 90's, and over 40 nations thought that Saddam was rebuilding his bio/chem/nuclear weapons program. There were many U.N resolutions passed during those years because even the IAEA thought he was hiding stuff.....This isn't fantasy, it's a fact.

While we didn't find any WMD, what we did find was an asston of Yellocake Urainium that he wasn't supposed to have and that was quietly transported to Canada for disposal.

http://www.nbcnews.com/id/2554.....-hauls-uranium-iraq/

Quoted Text
The last major remnant of Saddam Hussein's nuclear program — a huge stockpile of concentrated natural uranium — reached a Canadian port Saturday to complete a secret U.S. operation that included a two-week airlift from Baghdad and a ship voyage crossing two oceans.

The removal of 550 metric tons of "yellowcake" — the seed material for higher-grade nuclear enrichment — was a significant step toward closing the books on Saddam's nuclear legacy. It also brought relief to U.S. and Iraqi authorities who had worried the cache would reach insurgents or smugglers crossing to Iran to aid its nuclear ambitions.

So please don't be like Boxy and either try and re-write or make it up.

Oh Buck, I haven't rewritten a damn thing....never said we had bad intel, said there were no WMD
Said (and it's fact) we took our eye off the original target (Binladen) by waging a Bush war
FACT he stated on NATIONAL TV when asked about the invasion, "...he tried to kill my Daddy..."
So not dredging up BS, stating facts.
PERSONAL OPINION: We had no right going into Iraq when we did until we had good
verifiable intel...we lost focus and allowed GW to do as he wanted and present
justification that was or was not real.....like I've seen written many times....
DON'T BELIEVE EVERYTHING THAT IS WRITTEN....WMD was reported as intelligence
in this case an oxymoron bu Bush had us believing it!!!!

Buck... try to keep up... I know it's complicated, but at least read your own links:

Quoted Text
Tuwaitha and an adjacent research facility were well known for decades as the
centerpiece of Saddam's nuclear efforts.
Israeli warplanes bombed a reactor project at the site in 1981. Later, U.N. inspectors
documented and safeguarded the yellowcake, which had been stored in aging drums
and containers since before the 1991 Gulf War. There was no evidence of any yellowcake
dating from after 1991
, the official said.

THE FACILITY WAS DESTROYED IN 1981 BY ISRAELI WARPLANES.  ALL THAT REMAINED WAS
KNOWN THE LEFTOVER YELLOWCAKE FROM SADAM'S NUKE FACILITY!

This yellowcake was not part of the GWB "WMD" claims.   See below:

The Baghdad Nuclear Research Facility adjacent to the Tuwaitha "Yellow Cake Factory" contains
the remains of nuclear reactors bombed by Israel in 1981 and the United States in 1991. It was
used as a storage facility for spent reactor fuel and industrial and medical wastes
.
The radioactive material would not be useful for a fission bomb, but could be used
in a dirty bomb. Following the 2003 invasion of Iraq, the facility was heavily looted by hundreds
of Iraqis, though it is unclear what was taken.

Until 1991, the facility was a nuclear research facility supposedly under the direction of Khidir
Hamza. The facility is surrounded by a sand berm four miles (6.4 km) around and 160 feet
(50 m) high, and contained the French-built research reactor Osirak, destroyed by Israel in 1981.

In April 2003, U.S. Marines discovered the Tuwaitha Nuclear Research Center and told reporters
that they may have discovered a secret nuclear facility. The AP cited an expert who said that
such a claim was implausible, and suggested that what actually happened is that the Marines
broke the IAEA seals "designed to ensure the materials aren't diverted for weapons use - or end
up in the wrong hands. 'What happened apparently was that they broke IAEA seals, which is
very unfortunate because those seals are integral to ensuring that nuclear material doesn't get
diverted,' the expert said, speaking on condition of anonymity."

On May 3, 2003, a detachment of U.S. Army Special Forces led by United States Navy
Commander David Beckett and eight nuclear experts from the United States Department of
Defense's Direct Support Team conducted a survey of the facility, finding the looting, similar
to the situation in the nearby Tuwaitha Nuclear Research Center.

During the initial months of the occupation, Tuwaitha was protected by American forces and
administered by contractors from the Raytheon Corporation. Complete control of the facility
was turned over to Iraqi authorities in the Summer of 2004.

TO THIS DAY, THERE HAS BEEN NO WMD'S FOUND IN IRAQ!

What about the other 40+ nations? Did GWB sucker them too?

Don't answer it...It's bad enough I got trolled into this and I'm not going to rehash stuff I argued 6 years ago.

You wanto to think that GWB and his admin (as well as Clinton's) was smart enough to sucker, not just the Democrats here, but 40+ nations as well as the U.N inspectors from the IAEA....More power to ya.

Weapons Inspector on WMD's in Iraq:

Speaking on the anniversary of the United States' invasion of Iraq, originally declared as
a pre-emptive strike against a madman ready to deploy weapons of mass destruction
(WMDs), the man first charged with finding those weapons said that the U.S. government
has "the same mind frame as the witch hunters of the past" — looking for evidence
to support a foregone conclusion.

"There were about 700 inspections, and in no case did we find weapons of mass destruction
," said Hans Blix, the Swedish diplomat called out of retirement to serve as the United Nations'
chief weapons inspector from 2000 to 2003; from 1981 to 1997 he headed the International
Atomic Energy Agency. "We went to sites [in Iraq] given to us by intelligence, and only in three
cases did we find something" - a stash of nuclear documents, some Vulcan boosters, and several
empty warheads for chemical weapons.

(Blix told Bushy there were no WMD's, and Bushy ignored the FACTS to start his failed
oil war)

Some people are so dedicated to the agenda, they will ignore actual FACTS forever!

If you recall, our allies DID NOT agree with invasion of Iraq, and only after pressure agreed to provide limited participation along with early removal of troops becuase of pressure from their respective coountry population against their participation.

PS - You weren't trolled into the conversation, it was your choice to enter it, just like DVOR didn't troll anyone to comment on his remarks, I chose to comment to show his justification is flawed.

Of course the Euros didn't want us to invade...The corruption of the 'Oil for Food' program was making them tens, if not hundreds of millions of $$$

LOL   40 other nations???

The Bush Administration made it known that any country who receives foreign aid had better send
troops for the Iraq war.
Many did, but how committed were they to the war, as long as they sent ONE TROOP

Iceland: 2 troops
Philippines: 51 troops
New Zealand: 61 troops
Norway: 150 troops
Armenia: 46 troops
Kazakhstan: 29 troops
Bosnia and Herzegovina: 85
Moldova: 24
Estonia: 40 troops

Of your 40+ nations who joined the coalition, 31 sent less than a thousand, most sent less than a few
hundred, but even with only Iceland's 2 troops, the Bush Administration claimed a 40+ Nation Coalition!!!

The reality:
United States: 150,000 troops
United Kingdom: 46,000 troops
Australia, South Korea, Georgia & Spain sent a few thousand troops each.
Most of the cost of sending these 'token troops' was reimbursed by the USA.

Extremists like Box (and most of the Pelosi-palooza members of Congress) keep pushing the bull sh*t line that Saddam Hussein was not a threat .. that he was a good and decent man .. and that we were the bad guys for taking him out.

They conveniently forget that Saddam Hussein used chemical weapons(which is technically a WMD) on his own citizens.  They conveniently forget that Saddam Hussein and his weirdo sons would hand pick woman off of the street, rape and torture them and then dump their dead bodies outside the palace fence.  They conveniently forget that Saddam Hussein offered and PAID rewards to the families of suicide bombers who attacked targets in Israel and in other nations.  They conveniently forget that Saddam Hussein received from French companies (one owned by former French President and scuzz-ball Jaque Chirac)  and Russia equipment that was capable of producing chemical and biological weapons -- equipment that was packed up and shipped back to Russia and France in the weeks just before the U.S. intervention began.  They conveniently forget that Saddam Hussein publicly told the world and his own people that Iraq had a nuclear weapons program -- and the fact that it "vanished" does not not actually prove it didn't exist.  It could very well be that scum like Putin and Chirac helped make it disappear because they knew that George W. Bush would have kicked their asses if it was proven that they had been violating international sanctions and arming Saddam Hussein.

So on this tenth anniversary of the U.S. intervention in Iraq,  I reiterate that I am glad we stood up for what was right and good.  I am glad that Hussein is dead.  I am glad that Iraq is now on the road to Democracy. And I gladly invite those who disagree to pack their bags and go move to Iran or some Taliban cave and live like a sewer rat.
