SCHENECTADY — Johnny's, a classic Italian restaurant from The Mallozzi Group, will open on Friday, March 29, at 433 State St., across from Proctors and at the corner of State and Jay streets in downtown.
The menu will have as its centerpiece a mix-and-match selection of homemade pastas and sauces, co-owner Bobby Mallozzi said. His brother John, after whom the restaurant is named, will be the executive chef. Entrees will be priced from $12.95 to $22.
The 6,000-square-foot restaurant will seat 120, plus a 30-seat bar and another 30 seats at bar tables, and a 40-person seasonal patio.

Mallozzi, huh? A multimillionaire again, another for-profit downtown business that will be getting richer in the bucks on the back of the financially struggling homeowners.
Another socialist government restaurant in Schenectady funded by and kept afoat by the taxpayers.
Here goes another reduction in the city's tax base, more reduction in home values, another increase in taxes and more people putting their homes up for sale.
Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent. Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.
Now let's wait for the dem cheerleader to post on here posting that this is wonderful while posting the usual lie that the city is in a grand renaissance, you know that dem cheerleader who REFUSES TO PROVIDE EVEN ONE TEEN WEENY SHRED of EVIDENCE to show HOW the city is improving.

How long is the tax exemption? Just what Schenectady needs another red sauce place. Keep the DEM implosion going. There are still some "leaders" with hands out.
The tax thing will be licked as soon as all the vacant homes are sold at higher than 'bubble' prices. People can't complain about being overtaxed if theirhouses are 'worth' astronomic amounts on paper. The beauty of the plan is that the people can't flee either, because smart people won't pay that muchto live here, so homeowners can't sell to escape. I know I'm a broken record, but you never know when someone new is going to look at this and they won't get this viewpoint anywhere in the media. Where is all the "good" that is coming from these "good for Schenectady" enterprises downtown? Some remodeled streets that should've been repaved with our taxes long ago? So what? Stockton had an inordinate number of building projects going on at public expense. What good did that do?
A total farce. They couldn't stay open in Albany where they couldn't rape the taxpayers. Vacant homes will never sell until McCheese, Erickson, Porterhouse and the whole DEM gang are broomed out of office. Homeowners and City property owners who fled should unite and clear out the implosion squad. They have been at the trough long enough. Like 37 years. They should put in better curbs.
Expect to see all of yous at the Junior League $100 a plate grand opening-lol.
