I've been shopping there so many years, I guess change is good.
Reminds me of that commercial on TV, is it for Prego or Ragu, can't remember, where a woman is standing there and you here her thoughts saying something about wondering whatever bad choices she was making
Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent. Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.
healthcare will be handing out 'gift cards' for being underserved.....as long as there is some front face taking the 'complaint' with a 'reparation' acceptable by the masses called----"at least they did this/that"
it's like scratching a dog's ear so that it lies at your feet because it doesn't know any better.
...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......
The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.
STOP BEING GOOD DEMOCRATS---STOP BEING GOOD REPUBLICANS--START BEING GOOD AMERICANS
You should go to Shop Rite or the Co-Op or Gabriel's or Sal's or Greulich's -- those are the only places to shop at it in this area.

Not Hannaford? Not Trader Joe's? Not Target, Kmart, Walmart?
You see, DV, most people in Schenectady aren't living off too mommies who have incomes so high they don't qualify for enhanced STAR. If you were an adult, living as a normal adult, independently, and trying to live on a budget while paying high taxes (or high rent), then you WOULD NOT BE suggesting people go to those stores.
Most people in Schenectady cannot afford the higher prices that, in particular the smaller stores, charge, because they are paying the taxes for your dem political cronies.
It is a well known FACT that DV will NEVER address the impact of the exhorbitant Schenectady DEM IMPOSED taxes on the the residents and the residents' ability to shop at decent stores where customer service is better. He still REFUSES to provide one teeny weeny shred of evidence to show that the city is in a renaissance
OF COURSE, DV WILL NEVER RESPOND AND ADDRESS THE FACTS CLUCK CLUCK CLUCK

Hannaford on Consaul I find to be the most hassle-free. Shop Rite is getting an 'element', too! Nothing like Eastern Parkway PC, of course. I just can't deal with the congestion in the front end of Shop Rite. I'm too claustrophobic.
Is the bottle redemption business on State Street near Brandywine still there? That would be an in-town alternative to PC for bottle returns. It's in the ghetto, but they don't exist as an unwanted responsibility for a store so the staff wouldn't be indifferent. Of course, you wouldn't be able to combine all your errands, but PC isn't worth it. I go in there, but I stay away from the bottle returns because the behavior is just too uncivilized at times. I feel badfor some of the people in there, most of them are just trying to get their groceries, just like me, but my God! This is what a human landfill looks like, and acts like.
The employees at the EP Price Chopper are morons. I had a cashier hand me a wad of cash from the registrar and had me count out my own change because she couldn't. I wish that were an exaggeration but it is not. She didn't even have to do the math to figure out to determine the amount, she just had to count out the money. Couldn't do it!

It's deteriorating...like the PC off of Rosa that closed years ago.
Golub will run Eastern into the ground, close it, and move to some other City.
The employees stink, the building is getting run down and Golub is just playing a waiting game (a lease perhaps?).
I was almost attacked right in front of that PC back in early 2000 while I was jogging. At that time they had an officer in the main entrance ...I was very lucky. Never went back.

Price Chopper in Rotterdam has been a nightmare for months.
Long lines, construction, fake prices on the shelves, highest prices around.
Eastern Parkway has to be pretty lucrative, with all the food stamp dollars. The trouble is, if you don't drive, Hannaford is too expensive a cab ride and no longer on the bus line. People of modest means suffer the most becauseof the welfare dump. They can't get away from it.
Hannaford in Rotterdam has very good employees. Unfortunately, it does not have the same selection as the Hannaford in Guilderland (at the intersection of Rte 146 and Rte 20).
Of the major supermarket chains, Shop Rite is far and away THE BEST in the Capital District. Fortunately, we have many awesome independent markets, specialty shops, family farms/farm stands and independent producers within a 100 mile range --- the real answer is to BUY LOCAL and BUY FROM THE SOURCE. The chain stores just help to fill in the gaps.
