“Way too many people believe Republicans are anti-immigrant, anti-woman, anti-science,
anti-gay, anti-worker.
And the list goes on and on and on. Many voters are simply unwilling to choose our candidates
even though they share our core beliefs because those voters feel unloved, unwanted and unwelcome
in our party.”

Republicans need to separate themselves from the kind of rhetoric contained in Mitt Romney’s
“47 percent” remarks, in which the former GOP presidential candidate argued that nearly half the
country was reliant on government services and wouldn’t vote Republican.

GOP Gets Whiter, As America Gets More Diverse

Between 2000 and 2010, the non-Hispanic white share of the population fell from 69 percent to 64 percent,
closely tracking the 5-point drop in the white share of the electorate measured by exit polls between 2004
and 2012. But after the post-census redistricting and the 2012 elections, the non-Hispanic white share of
the average Republican House district jumped from 73 percent to 75 percent, and the average Democratic
House district declined from 52 percent white to 51 percent white.
In other words, while the country continues to grow more racially diverse, the average Republican district
continues to get even whiter.

Will the real Republican Party please stand up?

Quoted Text
You could be forgiven for thinking that there were two Republican parties on display over
the last few days at the Conservative Political Action Conference in suburban Washington.

On one side was the “compromise equals surrender” crowd led by Sens. Rand Paul (Ky.) and Ted
Cruz (Tex.) with an assist from Sarah Palin and her Big Gulp soda. On the other was what passes
for the party establishment represented by former Florida governor Jeb Bush and Sen. Marco Rubio (Fla.).

The two groups’ analysis of the current state of the Republican Party made it sound as though
they were on two different planets.

Voters See GOP As 'Scary,' 'Narrow Minded'

Quoted Text
The Republican National Committee (RNC) released its wide-ranging "autopsy" report on
Monday, admitting some of its shortcomings after losing the 2012 presidential election.

Coined the Growth and Opportunity Project, the document includes market research from voter
focus groups around the country.

"Asked to describe Republicans, they said that the Party is 'scary,' 'narrow minded,' and 'out of
touch'
and that we were a Party of 'stuffy old men.' This is consistent with the findings of other
post-election surveys," the report states.

The GOP is estranged from America

Quoted Text
In my decades of polling, I recall only one moment when a party had been driven
as far from the center as the Republican Party has been today.
The GOP has come to be seen as the more extreme party, the side unwilling to
compromise or negotiate seriously to tackle the economic turmoil that challenges the
nation.

Americans’ values and beliefs are more divided along partisan lines than at any time in
the past 25 years. The values gap between Republicans and Democrats is now greater
than the one between men and women, young and old, or any racial or class divides.

For decades, my colleagues and I have examined the competing forces and coalitions
within the two parties. In our most recent national assessments, we found not only
that the percentage of people self-identifying as Republicans had hit historic lows but
that within that smaller base, the traditional divides between pro-business economic
conservatives and social conservatives had narrowed. There was less diversity of values
within the GOP than at any time in the past quarter-century.

Jurassic Republicans

"The far right howled when the autopsy was released. No shock there.
Did you really think people who deny evolution are going to adapt?
The report shines a light on what so many Republican politicians refuse to see: a bridge to the past
is a bridge to nowhere."

Virgil, go tell Box of Rox that the president love's them and validates them. Don't forget to invite Box over for a campfire sing. We
can give Box their papers then and have the ceremony. Box will find our gated community most inviting and comfortable.
Box will fit right in with our family.

It is hard to believe that the GOP is taken seriously as a legitimate party. The party can be
broken down into four distinct factions:
~ the racist faction,
~  the ‘alternate state of reality’ faction,
~ the evangelical fanatical faction,
~ and the impotent faction.
At any given time most Republicans tend to play a part in two or more of these factions.

It is hard to believe that the GOP is taken seriously as a legitimate party. The party can be broken down into four distinct factions, the racist faction, the ‘alternate state of reality’ faction, the evangelical fanatical faction, and the impotent faction. At any given time most Republicans tend to play a part in two or more of these factions.

The impotent faction of the GOP is generally characterized by those that are fairly conservative but understand that governing requires compromise. These are the guys that could return the GOP to the party that was a participant in many policies that moved the country forward (civil rights, etc.). Many times in negotiating with President Obama, John Boehner exhibited this attribute when he was willing to execute the “Grand Bargain” until his caucus balked.

The racist faction of the party is characterized by Donald Trump, Jason Rapert, and Tom Tancredo. This wing was called out by both General Colin Powell and Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson.

The evangelical fanatical faction is characterized by Todd Akin, Mike Huckabee, and Pat Robertson. This faction has a stranglehold on the Party as their churches skirt the laws and provide direction for their indoctrinated to vote as a block that is generally consequential.

Lastly, there is the alternate state of reality faction that is characterized by Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann, and Glenn Beck. This faction was used to basically to rile up their low information followers.
