SCHENECTADY - Police rescued three dogs and two birds from a burning house on Foster Avenue Sunday morning. The fire broke out around 1:30 a.m. at 2092 Foster Ave., Sgt. Matthew Dearing, a police spokesman, said. The family who lives at the home escaped unharmed, but they told police at the scene their pets were still trapped inside the inferno, Dearing said. Five patrolmen and one sergeant ran inside the flaming house, found the pets and brought them out safely, Dearing said. The sergeant was bitten by one of the dogs and was treated for the bite at Ellis Hospital, Dearing said. What sparked the blaze is unclear. But wait... Don't we hear daily about how BAD the cops are??? Aren't the COPS the ENEMY??? Some on this board are arming themselves to do actual battle with the police... and every day some on the board do nothing but post insults and hate about our police force... Yet this story shows the police to be hero's... Police are not paid to run into burning buildings... and especially to endanger their lives to rescue some pets... I wonder how the 'haters' on the board will explain this heroism when all they preach is Cops Bad... Cops are Evil... Cops only do Harm. Of course we all know that the 'haters' are full of $hit! |

saving a dog/cat so the firefighter/police officer can be hurt and then cost the taxpayers future $$ for a wound that prevents them from working....
the problem is NOT in the firefighter/police officer going in for HUMANS but a hero getting a DOG/CAT out??? really?
HUMANS COME FIRST....NOT PETS...
but thank you officer and I'm sorry that as humans we don't know the difference between our own species and those we rule over but we DO make a distinction within our own species as to who gets ruled over. |

That's how I see it too RP. There are a few bad cops and some very good cops... most are just trying to do a good job for their community. Ask Henry, Cicero or L4Life if they feel the same way. |

The B@stards!!!
my point is NOT to blame the police/firefighters for their own danger,,but society's 'buster feelings'....really? too bad sesame street made muppets/monsters/animals equal to humans.... if we had more rational logical reality based priorities instead of fluff and stuff for votes/contracts etc the masses wouldn't be so convoluted and divided.... it's foundational.....nothing personal to the officer who is also a cog... again, thank you officer for risking your life for an ill informed public with misplaced priorities..... saving that cat is just as important as saving the policy makers a$$es when legislating for the social engineering of the cast system and contracts. |

One long disjointed sentence... My High School English teacher, Mrs Green would have loved your compositions even more than she loved mine! "if we had more rational logical reality based posts"... |

So if I think some cops are good guys, I have to be against clean, constitutional government, and if I want good government I must be a cop hater? I don't think so. I don't like the propaganda we've been exposed to that has people begging to be irradiated and have their children molested at airports to be "safe", giving up all our rights and privacy, letting a president and a governor decide which of our rights as citizen they will allow us to keep, etc. etc. Police are PUBLIC SERVANTS. |

I have a difficult time fluffing/stuffing and punctuating....verbally I don't have to worry about it, the other person does especially when my body hair bristles like the beast that I am.... my high school english teacher would have thrown his loafer at you or hit you over the head with the plastic tube where by then you could place a piece of tape with your name written on it....he was a boomer/hippy/yuppy |

Even Al Capone fed the poor in Chicago. But he wasn't appointed by a democratically elected politician. So his acts ofbenevolence do not outweigh his acts of violence. We watched the LAPD shoot up innocent people in LA while carryingout the hit on Doner, and we are expected to excuse their violent actions because they wear a costume. The SPD cops that "saved" the doggy wouldn't think twice about shooting you if they though you threatened them. Because they legally can. |

So, AS USUAL, what you are saying is that acts of kindness and selflishness and honest perforamnce of duties by cops is only a facade and they are just as bad as the others...in other words your view is that all cops are bad! You have a simple philosophy....authority is bad, always, period. |

i think that what cic is saying is that just because they save a dog....doesn't excuse their 'very bad behavior' and their abuse of power and their greed for money. don't take a rocket scientist here!! its as simple as that! |
