I don't get it. Reviews praise the movie's realism? Because street names are used? What, they fact check location shots or something, and who cares if a fake story uses authentic details anyway? How about a scene with Eva Mendes carrying the most Anglo-Saxon baby alive? Never mind, I digress.
That Scent of a Woman movie didn't have a premiere in Troy or thereabouts, if I recall correctly. It's not routine to do so, from what I see, so it isn't asif the city has been somehow "snubbed".
As Tommy points out, it isn't exactly a "feel good" film, so why the attempt to 'own' it? Ever watch cops and wonder why some of those people want their faces shown?
FM obviously thought that it was understood that he is someone to be reckoned with. |

I believe that this movie will usher in a new era for Schenectady and people will see it truly is the Miracle on the Mohawk that Mrs. Savage and others have created. KUDOS to our wonderful Mayor and to-die-for City Council!

Seriously, why would some of the scenes for a movie being shot in the area have anything but a temporary effect on anything? Yeah, a movie is nice. What did Time Machine do for the city? They gave us a gazebo that got hidden away from the people. Would a movie EVER usher in a new era? Would any normal person over the age of maybe eighteen think it could?
Morris thinks he is a big deal. Not everyone recognized his greatness. Maybe somebody should've told them. That's all. |
