DId you see, the movie wont' premiere on the taxpayers' dime.
Morris wont be able make money of any rich and famous, rumor was that he was going to be charging $250 a head for the premiere there.
So Morris the tax thief is whining and stomping his feet that the movie wont' be there.
I think we heard some stomping sounds from out Guilderland ave way too.

I think that the historian guy had this movie business stolen out from under him. It looked like he was trying to justify his part-time salary by branching out into related areas, and he may have been stealing the thunder from some self-important types. I could be wrong, though. He could've just gotten into it with the wrong person. He's got a reputation for having a temper. But if control of this movie/economic development thing was indeed wrested from the person who brought it to fruition, how hilarious this new development is. Wish I had more inside info.
After reading the TU article it looks like Morris' involvement isn't what killed the premiere idea, as much as I would've liked to think so. However, his involvement didn't make it happen, either. These premiers in small places without the big stars aren't a big deal anyway. Who would pay a lot of money to attend a premier without Ryan Gosling? I saw all the very young ladies gathering for a glimpse of him during filming. A premier at Proctor's wouldn't be something that interested them.
"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
Watch out for what you wish for. That movie doesn't portray Schenectady as a place of inspiration, It displays it a a place of DESPIRATION. That is what the movie is about, ya bunch of goofballs. Desperation.

I'm not even sure he was looking to have any of the main stars here. I think it was for the prestige and more so for the money. Think, Proctors is about, about 2500 seats. For-profit theaters charging even $10 per ticket would mean at $250 a head, Morris would be raking in $600,000 beyond that which he would take in if he charged a normal ticket price. He should just get the hell out of Schenectady and go move to Hollywood. Let someone come in who would make a salary that is a normal amount for a non-for-profit and then have shows put on by volunteers. Otherwise eliminate the non-for-profit status because ALL THE EVIDENCE PROVES that Proctors is NOT a non-for-profit.

I thought it was 'Il Duce' Cuomo and 'Dear Leader' Obama that is saving us?

He's probably still crying over Cuomo trying to bring casinos to the area. That might divert some of his endless grant money to actual money-making-taxpayer-saving endeavors.
Who's gonna' give McCheesy a job when his time is up????
