Mr. James Hairstylist, the business Mark Scolamiero's grandfather and father passed down to him, is closing Saturday.

Looks like a barber shop is going into that building that Focus constructions owns on State street near the train tracks.  Anyone know any information about it.  Saw large neon sign last night.  on the second floor.

Death Ray strikes again! Another spot for a new community theater or second hand store!

While it is sad to see them go after 80 years (for all of those years my family has patronized them), the decision to close was not "out of the blue".  They have been thinking about it for a number of years.  Furthermore, it has NOTHING to do with Metroplex.  The sad fact is that businesses come and eventually go -- nothing lasts forever  (except - it seems -  the whining of the nayboobs).

If this man was connected, the Plex would have given him a $200,000 'relocation' grant into Center City, would have given him a Plex loan to cover the rent and would have praised the move as a new business in the area.

Unlike Transfinders which moved from Erie Blvd to next to Proctors...this hard-working business man must not be a DEM and made his money the honest way.

Excuse me DV but it has EVERYTHING to do with Metroplex.   Your dem buddies and plex gave MILIONS to a billionaire, AND exempted the billionaire from paying the taxes he can more than afford to pay, so even there are no customers, he makes money when the taxpayers pay for financial aid for the high school dropouts to go to school there.  Those who work at paul Mitchell are NOT professionals, they are merely students.

DV, try explaining WHY, since there are no people downtown, is a tax exempt for profit hair do school staying open??????   Well????????    Care to explain??????

Tell us DV, tells us WHY Metroplex and your dems REFUSE to exempt Mr James from taxes????   How come plex is not coming forth with millions to keep them open????    Can you answer that.

And further proof that NO ONE wants to be downtown is shown in the EVIDENCE that despite your dems buddies ten years running the city in cahoots with metroplex, explain WHY with all the high paid state employees, and with MVP, and the high paid county employees, etc, please explain WHY they do NOT go about doing business downtown?????

Did it occur to anyone that it was time to close up shop???/    to RETIRE ???   I would think that is why.....when it's time it;s time........
