Schenectady resident in critical condition after shooting Published 11:44 pm, Friday, February 8, 2013 Schenectady resident critical after shooting SCHENECTADY — A city resident is in critical condition after a shooting Friday afternoon, city police said. Police responded to a report of a stabbing at a Madison Avenue apartment just before 3:30 p.m. When they arrived, they found one person had been shot in the torso. Police said an infant was also inside the apartment at the time of the shooting. The child was not injured but was taken into protective custody by Schenectady County Child Protective Services. The shooting victim is being treated at Albany Medical Center. The victim's identity was not released by police. Police said the relationship between the suspect, victim and infant is not known.
