So what? Tell that to auto accident victims and their families... they could care less what it was designed to do..
When operated without regard to safety, the end RESULT is the same.

We face many dangers in everyday life.  Cars are one of them.  If we could legislate safer cars
and we have, we save lives.
If we legislate safer guns, and we have, we save lives.

Here is a 338 Lupua hitting a target at almost 1 and a half miles away or 2500 yards, should we ban this to box?

Why do you NEED THIS GUN HENRY???
I know I know, you're probably out spankin the monkey after all this gunporn... but normal people
will still ask... (other than a Viagra substitute) why do you NEED this gun???

What scares me is the @sshole behind the trigger.  He's just your average GunHugger but put
something this size in his hands and GunHuggers suddenly can't resist killing something... doesn't matter
much what... as long as they can 'project their manhood'.

But box there has only been 1 murder in 22 years with a 50, explain that? As I said you have killed more people then this gun has in this country, should we be afraid of you even more then this round?

If we were only allowed what we "need", the world would be a very boring place..

There are PLENTY of things we don't "need" that if banned, could save lives...
example..
Why are even four cylinder cars capable of going over 70 mph? There's absolutely no reason for it as the engine can be designed to accelerate fully for merging, etc, and have a hard mph limit...You'd actually save more lives because accident deaths caused by speeds above 70 mph are much greater in number than any deaths via a .50 cal rifle

Don't forget hunting...there are many hunting accidents every year.  Very very dangerous...but since they do not get killed by assault rifle, their deaths are government approved!

The 50BMG is the largest round civilians can own without special permits, what caliber is ok for you where you are not scared, a 22. , 223, 308?

I'm interested in expending effort on things that will make the biggest impact...banning 50 cals won't...

Guns have nothng to do with "SCARED".  But you've used the right word... S C A R E D!

GunHuggers don't want a pissy lil 22 or even a standard deer gun... they want to SCARE the
neighborhood.  Henry's bunker already proves his paranoia... but scared as he is, hunkering down
in his cellar with the windows sandbagged and a 2 year supply of food and ammo... FEAR MOTIVATES
GUNHUGGERS... and they hope that flashing that glock on their hip at the T BALL games will
keep his neighbors AFRAID.

Check it out... Dems fear very little... Reps fear just about everything.
See the story below:
Republican Brains Differ From Democrats' In New FMRI Study
Quoted Text
Comparing the Democrat and Republican participants turned up differences in
two brain regions: the right amygdala and the left posterior insula. Republicans showed
more activity than Democrats in the right amygdala when making a risky decision. This
brain region is important for processing fear, risk and reward.

Meanwhile, Democrats showed more activity in the left posterior insula, a portion of the
brain responsible for processing emotions, particularly visceral emotional cues from the
body. The particular region of the insula that showed the heightened activity has also
been linked with "theory of mind," or the ability to understand what others might be
thinking.

Henry has little choice.  His FEAR DRIVEN BRAIN forces him to arm himself against...
well... against his imagined foes!

So once again box dodges the simple questions asked, I posted other rounds that are far more effective then the 50BMG, however boxes only argument is why do you need them. I simply asked what size round should be legal, box dodges that question. His argument just like these idiots in Albany are crushed because they can't answer simple questions.

I thought your question was rhetorical... of course I'll answer.  All of em would be ok with me.
There you got your answer.
Henry's FEAR DRIVEN BRAIN makes these things important to him.  Now he can fear that a "caliber"
will be taken from him... how will he sleep at night without all these rounds???

Ask Troy when they gave it up 3 years ago.

Notice the safe law didn't cause the shootings to go down but went up 22% from last year. Those criminals are still breaking the law.

Federal Court Upholds Gun Safety Laws In  New York and Connecticut,
including restrictions on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.

It was a bad day for gun nuts running the NRA as the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in
Manhattan largely upheld tough gun safety laws in New York and Connecticut, including
restrictions on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.

Quoted Text
To summarize, we hold as follows:
(1) The core prohibitions by New York and
Connecticut of assault weapons and large ‐capacity magazines do not violate the Second Amendment.

(a)
We assume that the majority of the prohibited conduct falls within the scope of Second Amendment
protections. The statutes are appropriately evaluated under the
Constitutional standard of “intermediate scrutiny”—that is, whether they are “substantially related to
the achievement of an important governmental interest.”

b)
Because the prohibitions are substantially related to the important governmental interests of public
safety and crime reduction, they pass constitutional muster. We
therefore AFFIRM the relevant portions of the judgments of the Western District of New York and the
District of Connecticut insofar as they upheld the constitutionality of state prohibitions on
semiautomatic assault weapons and large capacity magazines.

As I recall neither NY or Conn gun owners registered very many assault weapons so how good is the new law.
